Me and panda did it. it wasn't set up, i did a random 360 no scope wall bang across the map, and hit! It still legit. Its not a bug, abuse or a glitch. Its all legit.
Well you seemed to be in spectate mode BEFORE you made the shot. So my guess is you actually shot a pretty far shot, maybe around 90 blocks, did /leave and then fly away. But I dont know how you could fly 1000 blocks :P. Oh well Edit: you joined back :P Maybe when you join thats when the shot was made? Since joining makes you spawn at the spawn? idk :P
If you mean the round on the map, no. Plaza left to the spectator spawn and flew to get distance just like the shot with Gapple thing with the swaps to make it weird.
@Detonator Yes, it IS finished, I took multiple screenshots right after we did it, and after the game was done.

@Shadowbladz I assume you're supposed to be in the game when you go far away from the spawn platform? But that would means you would have to hit a 1706 long bow shot, which isn't very easy. Second of all, if you leave you're an observer…

This is not possible. The farthest i shot someone in any server, OCN was about 80-somethin' blocks.
Avicore was 61.-whatever blocks.
1706.-whatever blocks is too far. You had to be on the highest build level which is about 256 blocks.
And by then your render distance-assuming you used far-allows you to see 256 blocks. There is no way that you could've shot that far.
You could've used optifine's extreme render distance which is 512 meters in length-half a kilometer. So that could've been an option but that would require a computer like mine... plus the occasional lag spike of deathhhh... there is no way you guys did this.
Arrows can't go that far despite altitude.
Your render distance limits you so much.
But, there is a possibility, he could've been in the void and you were on the max height. Did i crack it yet?

the longest LEGITIMATE, UNSTAGED shot ever recored in Avicus is 120. something blocks by fishyfacediamond. Higher claims have been made but they have yet to be recorded.
My theory: You built a plattform 1706 blocks away from spawn and shot panda in to the void. While he was falling you quickly left and joined the same team again.
@Rot *facepalm* BIG BIG BIG FACEPALM. if you didn't know, the highest you can stack up in minecraft is 256 blocks. Or should I call it height limit?
@Sunrise Abusing glitches? You don't even know how we did it, its not abusing. xD please don't make judgements before you know what you're talking about.
And btw, its not a server bug or glitch, its something you could do in a survival world, so its not abuse at all..
How can one executable file format be better than the other? If I had to choose, I would in fact argue that the jar is better because it is JVM Bytecode and can be executed on many different platforms.

Maybe these articles could be helpful in resolving this dispute? (I'm thinking it's only theoretically possible for an Arrow to travel as far as Panda and Plaza claim.)

This is NOT a glitch However this would be IMPOSSIBLE if the code of avicus was slightly modified in a certain aspect This is also achieved with a rather poorly made map, but you are still able to do it on any map, it's just easier. We did not break ANY rules to do this and have had a mod say it is legal.
