Hey there. Today i am introducing a new tournament, it's called: Bloodthirsty,


This tournament will be TDM. I'm doing this to train for the upcoming official tournament. As far as we know, it will be TDM so why not? Let's start.


System: 3 Game Guarantee


Gamemode: TDM

Roster Sizes: 8v8 (6 minimum players)

  • You may use substitute players as long as they are not already playing on a team that is in this tournament.

Map Veto:

  • Best of 3

  1. Team A will veto one map.

  2. Team B will veto one map.

  3. Team A will choose one map.

  4. Team B will choose one map.

  5. Team A will veto one map.

  6. Team B will veto one map.

  7. The last remaining map will be played if necessary.

  • Best of 5 (Finals)

  1. Team A will veto one map.

  2. Team B will veto one map.

  3. Team A will pick one map.

  4. Team B will pick one map.

  5. Team A will pick one map.

  6. Team B will pick one map.

  7. The last map that hasn't been vetoed or chosen will be counted as the default win.

No, this has no relevance to the next tournament soon to come. It's just a means to give players the encouragement to host their tournaments, knowing there's a possibility it can be supported!

Don't worry, we'll make sure everyone plays the right matches and knows when they're playing and what happens next (after a win or loss). All you have to do is focus on trying your best and having fun! :D

Things to Consider:
  • The winner of game #1 (Big Boyz vs. Baller Boys) will play immediately after that game is finished against China Baby Toes. There will be a few minutes of break in between these 2 games, depending on how fast the game goes.
  • Some games may say Saturday according to GMT time, but it could very well be a Sunday in your timezone.
  • The time that is next to your team name is the time that you will be playing according to the timezone that your team leader gave me. If your timezone is not the same as the one that your team leader gave to me, please talk to your team leader to figure out what time it is.
  • On Sheet 3 of the spreadsheet, there is a timetable for all of the teams. You can use this to see how I came up with the times of the matches.
If there are any mistakes please let me know!

Maps: 
  • Injustice has been added to the map pool.
  • In the event that Plaza, Lutose, and Emperial are not ready by the time the first matches start, we will be left with Actrix, Supply, Sentry, and Injustice. (4 maps). A new veto system may have to be created later on.
  • If worst comes to worst and we do not have at least 5 of the planned maps to be used in this tournament, we will add in a "Wildcard map". This map will be a completely random TDM map (Not Nexus) that is available on the Avicus repository. You may choose to veto the "Wildcard map" if you like, but you may risk vetoing a map that your team is strong at. 
Servers:
  • If the developers allow us to use the official servers, we will use them. If not, we will contact each team to book scrim servers at a designated time.

  • The time for Eternal Cross vs. Cronus has switched from 11PM GMT to 2PM GMT.

UPDATE

Schedule:

-Sorry, but I'm making a small tweak to Game #2 (CBT vs. winner of game #1). Originally, the game was scheduled for 7:45pm GMT, but I didn't realize that the scrim server would end in 15 minutes once the match had started xD. To fix this, the game will start 15 minutes later now at 8pm GMT. The updated times are posted on the spreadsheet as well.

Some maps weren't working too. Hopefully some of the maps will be fixed before the next match.

There were a lot of issues with tournament maps however the map developer and the developer team had figured it out (thanks a lot seth and javi) and now we can play all the maps without problems.

Highlights:
  •  Qrysis impressed many viewers on Actrix against CBT. The game started off very close, but CBT pulled away slowly near the end. 
  • Cacalmarin was the only team who had beat a team with a higher seed than them. 
Things to consider:
  • We will be changing the map pool for next week as a few of the newer maps are finally coming together. The veto process may change as well.
  • Times will be announced sometime during this week. 
Other than that, good luck to all teams next week! Even if you lose your 2nd match, you will not be eliminated yet!
Funny how they were winning by like 10points in the last 30seconds, then the server crashed.

UPDATE:

Schedule: 
  • The schedule for the Week 2 matches has been posted! You will find it on the same spreadsheet, just click on the tab on the bottom that says Schedule. The GMT time and date is provided as well as the the time according to the timezone provided by your leader (I converted the times for you :D).
  • Just a little note, some of the times became a little bit unreasonable. This is because there are lots of matches in the losers bracket and if we continued the tournament with just one match a week, this would take over a month. However, the times are still reasonable enough. Most teams will not be affected by this. 
  • Some of the matches that will be played don't have the assigned teams yet. That is because it depends on the results of the previous games. It is important that you know when the next match is as some may be back-to-back depending on the results.
Eliminations: 
  • This week, there will be 3 teams from the Loser's bracket eliminated. The 5 teams in the Loser's bracket will be fighting for one of the two spots at Game #14 or Game #15 against the losers of Game #12 and Game #13. Games #14-17 will happen the week after. 
  • Basically, if you are in the loser's bracket and you lose your 3rd, 4th, or 5th game, you will be eliminated from the tournament. The four teams in the winner's bracket regardless of the results are safe for another week and are guaranteed 6th place. 
Maps: 
  • All of the maps currently listed in the map pool are finalized except for:
    • Lutose
    • Emperial
  • We will let you know if these maps are not ready to go by the time of next week's matches.

You guys should attempt to log on. If you think about it your team is not the only one getting screwed with the times. Sometimes the times are better for the US / EU players and sometimes the times will be better for the AU's. As I am in Cacalmarin our match being at 9pm AEST against Apollo we ended up having to play another match against Sagrevyum at 8pm AEST due to the ban that led us to win Match 1 ended up being false. With the times being in AEST I had to convert those times as I am NOT au. Those matches ended up being 6am and 7am for me. I woke up at 2am this morning and stayed up just to play those 2 matches :c. The first match also last week against Sagrevyum also was 10am AEST last week which was bad for AU's but good for me since it was only 8pm EST.
