are you going to vote on the rules this time?

are you going to vote on the rules this time?
^This

You need officials confident enough to make basic calls, actually assert themselves and enforce the VERY EASY TO FOLLOW rules rather than a "Oh shit i know this is a clear dq, but my pee pee is small so ill have to double check with the big kids" and then the big kids have sawdust in  their head and make the easiest decision into a fuck up.

So the young insecure official learns the rules wrong, fucks the tournament, gives avicus' first money tournament a terrible name and we've done nothing to address the initial problem, his small pee pee

Are we all sure about this rule? Just making sure :)

cincip June 17, 2017 at 11:06 PM UTC

Is auto sneak allowed lol? It's not in the illegal modification section.

rinn June 18, 2017 at 3:06 AM UTC

"If you're caught with an autoclicker anywhere on your pc even if you're not using it you will be banned."

I would reconsider this. Why should it be guilty until proven innocent rather than innocent until proven guilty? If you definitively say that the person used an autoclicker within the tournament, they should be left alone. If someone got banned like that, and they can't prove that they didn't use it because there's no record of when it was used, how are they supposed to appeal? Are they just supposed to wait like 4-5 months for a false ban??

Just delete it then, shouldn't have it in the first place.

Added Rule on Rei's / Voxel Minimap:

The Mod has been removed from 'LEGAL MODIFICATIONS' and put under 'ILLEGAL MODIFICATIONS'. If you're caught using this during a screenshare refer above to see the punishment.

ytilauxesomoh July 1, 2017 at 4:07 AM UTC

Does the togglesneak thing also apply to using the togglesprint part of the togglesneak mod?

No, just the sneaking part that allows you to craft and do other things while shifted.

LFT July 1, 2017 at 7:07 PM UTC

Rei's minimap ? wtf its just a minimap LOL
Has the option to show players on the minimap.

zicuri July 1, 2017 at 7:07 PM UTC

Has the option to show players on the minimap.
Have you ever put the mod? because I'm pretty sure in my rei's minimap it does not have an option to show players...

Rombeyy July 1, 2017 at 9:07 PM UTC

Has the option to show players on the minimap.
did't you tell me you were such an hcf player ? LOL thats Voxel Map not reis, there is just 1 version of reis minimap and you can just say dont use the reis minimap version with radar if you feel to lol

LFT July 2, 2017 at 3:07 AM UTC

Both Voxel Map and Rei's have radar. If we ss a player and they have the no-radar version nothing will happen. But if they have the radar version they will get punished.

Rombeyy July 2, 2017 at 7:07 PM UTC

Then you gotta specify that you are not going to ban them just for using Rei's minimap, you are going to if they are using the version with radar xD

"If you're caught with an autoclicker anywhere on your pc even if you're not using it you will be banned."

RULE CHANGE
Section A, Hacking- If a player on your team is found cheating, they will be permantly banned from ALL avicus services, and the Team will Forfeit matches that player participated in. The Team will not be Disqualifed, unless the Event Staff Team has reason to believe the team knew about it. This goes for Ban evasion too.

The Team will not be Disqualifed, unless the Event Staff Team has reason to believe the team knew about it. This goes for Ban evasion too.
a) This is the dumbest rule change I've ever seen, I'm losing braincells

b) The fact that this is up to the event staff team makes me think of a vote...

c) Have you ever watched a professional sports game where a team was let off because they "didnt know" their teammate was on drugs for matches?

d) "It is up to the leader of each team to ensure that their team is under control" - Further down the ruleset, you enforce responsibility for following the rules upon leaders, but you're now using a different system of responsibility for the other half of the rules. Please stay fucking consistent, if you are going to base some of your rules off team accountability but not for the rules which could actually lead to some actual consequences, you look like fucking idiots and just like that vote, you come off as nervous when you come to a scenario that forces you to take a decisive stance and act.

e) Lets talk ban evasion:

4 different scenarios - They use their IP or they use a VPN with another one of their accounts or a teammates account
If they use their actual IP with a teammates account or their own you can just check it off against banned accounts before the game - what an idiot.
If they use a VPN, there is a 99% chance they won't give away "I am ban evading" so you aren't going to catch them using one of their own alts. You have no way of beating the "I joined this team, I'm new, this is my only account" The only way they ban evade and you catch them is the scenario where they use a teammates alt and use a VPN and you somehow find out afterwards. In that scenario, someone else from the team knew.... Whats the ruling there.... Do you even follow my logic?

f)  "unless the Event Staff Team has reason to believe the team knew about it"
Ok this is the most subjective way of determining how someone broke the rules, which might I add, are designed to be OBJECTIVE and black and white to all. Whats the measurement for "We think they knew"? Do you measure how surprised the team seemed by the ban? Do you ask them "Did you know" and just go off whatever answer they give? What's the threshold to having reason to believe the team knew about it? What are these reasons to believe? At what point do you step in and disqualify a team and say to them "We are going to enforce that you are lying and knew about it" You have absolutely no structure to making this decision. In the past teams have been Dq'ed for players cheating, so the only thing that this rule will change is that now some teams will be let off because a team has not met your undefined threshold of "If they knew" due to a lack of your undefined "reason to believe"

In short you have not defined anything in regards to how you make your desicions and all you've done is create room to fuck up. There is no winning scenario here. There is no gain to be made here, only a "we fucked up" or a "we are yet to fuck up"

I’ve talked around to team leaders and gotten their opinion on this, so this wasn’t just a decision made by the officials.
-Do you think it is fair for a full team to get disqualified when 1/14 players decided to ruin it for the whole team by breaking a rule? I sure as hell don’t. What’s the difference anyway? If a team plays 4 matches, that player played all 4, they still go 0-4 because they forfeit those matches, the player is still banned, I don’t see what your point is here.

Secondly, yes I do agree with your the term about the event staff deciding is very bland and stupid. We were trying to write something that if we feel the team knew about it, we would be able to DQ the team, here’s an example.
In the discord chat, Player 1) haha dude PokerFace you using those cheats we talked about? Now, obviously this can be a joke, which we will look out for, this event will most likely rarely happen, but it was added in for we have a say without community outrage.

Ban EvasIon, I agree with your points. It’s the hardest thing to catch if they are using a VPN, or if they are a new player, who claims they are new. I don’t see what you were segueing against here, if we can’t tell they are Ban evading, they can’t get punished.
