QuickTime. Should have come with your Mac, and it's free. Although I do get random lag spikes when playing games such as MC. I have the newest iMac with IOS Lion. So yeah.
Use QuickTime, as Cels and SkyGirl said. It's perfect, and doesn't lag me at all. I'm using an 2012 iMac 21.5", with OS X Yosemite, and I get about 200-300 FPS on Minecraft.

If you want a free software to record with, you can use QuickTime. It's already in your Mac.
If you want a paid one, I suggest getting ScreenFlow. It seems to be the best screen recording software out there for Mac right now. You can edit your videos straight from there without actually going into an video editing software. I still use video editing software, though.
I will use QuickTime for now, but will get ScreenFlow when I have the money :)
