So i have been seeing pics and there have been some cool texture packs on the picture. I don't have 1 and i wan't to know how to install one. Please help me.

go to start> type run in the box>go to .minecraft>find a folder called texture packs>if you have chrome your downloads will appear on the bottom of the window just drag the pack to the texture pack folder>done

or got to options in mc and look for resource packs and then open the resource pack folder

First.  Shift+Command g
This should bring  you to a screen that shows 


Once you see that, then hit "enter" it should show an empty resource pack folder, (in your case)
Then get your texture pack that you downloaded from the download section of the mac, and drag and drop the pack folder into the resource pack folder

How do you open them up on minecraft though?

I have sphax i just don't know how to put it onto minecraft.

You go to options in Minecraft and click on Resource Packs. You can there select the Resource Pack you desire to use.
