Fraps - How do you shrink the file size? by dodgerXyz June 4, 2014 at 9:06 PM UTC

Hello :D

So, i recently got Fraps (A recording software) and i filmed my first video on it. I went to upload it and the file size was over 5GB, can someone help me shrink the file size?

Thanks

Open any basic editing programm.
Look for a save or "render" option.
Render/save it at your desired setting.
The new file should be smaller :)

hehehe, that is why I use bandicam, it makes you lag less while recording and it gives smaller files :P

Well the youtube is saying that it will be 333 more minutes until its finished uploading.... its only 8% done :(

What I do is record in fraps, then I put it into windows movie maker and then when you're done editing, save the movie at the desired resolution.  and even if you save it in HD, the file size is still a lot smaller ;) and it uploads pretty fast on youtube (anywhere from 10-30 minutes depending on how long it is)

But it only takes that long because of your internet. How long is the video? I can tell you the usual upload speed for me and porky

Dodger, I use fraps as well.
There is no way to shrink the file size WITHIN fraps, but you can do so in your editing software.
Try rendering the videos as a lower quality file, which make the size very small.
The smaller the file size, the less it takes to upload the video.
