Hi, I've been having some deep thought about a 1-Day Avicus
Tournament. I have been sleeping on this idea for a while now and have had many
dreams on how a 1-Day tournament could be organized. Then it hit me. A massive
tournament of Red Alert to spice things up.
Gamemode: Red
Alert
Player Count: 64- 8 teams
128- 16 teams
256- 32 teams
Date/Time: 1 day event/2-3 hours
Prize: Individual Reward and Team Reward
How To Win: Total Team Points
So first off, things would start with having the 64 or 128 or 256 players register. A chance of people no-showing is very likely so each team will have maybe about 16 people maximum to register and they choose which 8 they would like to represent the team once the event actually starts. The number of teams that register will determine the number of groups there will be in the group stages. Ex. If the event has 32 teams registered, there will be 32 groups in the group stages.
Group Stages:
Each group will have 8 players. No group will have 2 players from the same team in the group stages. The matches will be a Best of 5 considering that Red Alert games are relatively short. The Top 4 players from the group that have the most points after the 5 matches will move on to the next stage.
1st: 5 points
2nd: 4 points
3rd: 3 points
4th: 2 points
5th:1 point
6th: 1 point
7th: 1 point
8th: 1 point
Once you are eliminated, you are out of the tournament. Your team ranking will be determined at the end of the tournament based on the amount of points your team has earned in total. Your objective is to make it through as many rounds as you can to have more chances to earn points for your team.
Next Stages:
The same process will continue, but at this point, you may be in the same game as members from your team. There may be situations in which you are against your own teammate at some point. This is to create balance and more competition as you will try hard to have both of you qualify to the next round.
Final Stage:
The Final Match will be a Best of 11. All other procedures remain the same. After this match, final rankings will be calculated and a winning team will be announced.
Leave some opinions on what you think about a Red-Alert tournament running like this. Thanks :p. And no, I'm not organizing an event. This is just an idea.
Below is a rough sketch on how the spreadsheet would look like.

I feel like this should just be an individual event, where the last man standing wins. There's no team effort in this so I feel it's kinda unnecessary lol
