Recording Software by Acceqted November 1, 2016 at 4:11 PM UTC

After time after time of fraps crashing on me, I'm looking for a new screen recorder. Something free, easy to understand and work with.

Please suggest down below *-*

If you have a Nvidia GPU, I recommend Shadowplay, as it decodes during recording with the GPU, not affecting gameplay. You can record ingame sound and Microphone, and also stream. 60fps and 1080p+ is possible depending on specs.

Or you can go for OBS. It's free and very customization!

If you have Windows 10, you can use windows 10 game recorder but if you want to record you have to play in window mode not F11(Fullscreen).

ShadowPlay if you meet the requirements.

I use the Windows 10 game recorder in full screen mode without any issues.

Although, I am considering switching to Shadowplay.

Are you on Windows or Mac?

OBS seems nice, I haven't had it personally but have used it before and it is user-friendly.

OBS is great.

diamond22 made a great guide on OCN on how to use it.

OBS I would definitely recommend.

OBS.

I heard Shadowplay was great though because it constantly records and you can take the last 5 minutes of the footage if you need it too.

OBS consumes a shit ton of RAM though

I just use Windows 10's built-in recording software. It's easy to use, doesn't require an external application, and it records games exactly as you see them.

I can only repeat myself. Use ShadowPlay if you meet the requirements.
