Thread dedicated to Minecraft 1.10, the upcoming update! (No, it's not going to be 2.0.)

THREAD ICON ID:
 = Mob Change
 = Hunger Change
 = Block Change
 = Combat Change
 = Texture Change
 = Generation Change
 = Technical Change



So far, we have the following information coming:
 - Endermen will now hang out in the nether.
 - A new block in the nether, ignites you when stepped on.
 - Villages may now spawn in Taiga biomes.
 - Villages now will generate bridges upon water intersection.
 - Villages now use grass paths as walkways rather than gravel.
 - New "seamless slab" and "bark blocks", as item if recipe found
 - New Mob: Polar Bear
 - New Mob: Baby Polar Bear
 - New Mob: Ragged Skeleton
 - Remove Block ID restrictions, no more block ID support
 - New block states (e.g /setblock blue_wool, not /setblock wool:11)
 - Levers can be placed on pistons
 - Customizable elytra textures for players

I like the ideas they put into it, but it's modded. It's not Minecraft anymore, they're taking Minecraft and throwing it in a fire...

Microsoft took over Minecraft so perhaps it'll run on Windows Excel, after all; they sent SethBling a teaser for Minecraft 2.0 on excel.

Pretty sure Elytra textures are a 1.9 thing. So long as you have a Minecon cape (or any other cape Mojang gives out), your Elytra texture changes

I read on reddit that you could custom texture it, they just didn't know when they'd add it. This was 4 months ago.

Yeah I agree! I seriously don't like these new updates; purely because they feel too... can't find the word! I enjoyed Minecraft because of how simple yet challenging it was...

The new updates are only really good in single player (seriously, it's really fun) but multiplayer wise, they don't seem to be doing too good.

It is pretty crappy looking, but some of the features are nice. Like allowing you to change your skin in the launcher and view/edit it. The guy that's developing it isn't an mc dev, he worked on Scrolls before so he's using the same design apparently.

That's funny. When 1.7 was released, people hated the living Hell out of it, but after a few weeks, they were fine with it. It's a cycle. New update comes, crap on it, then get used to it and have no problems with it, and repeat.

Yeah but I won't move past 1.9 and that's a fact, they completely fucked up the pvp system with shields and other shit. Luckily OCN made the cps limit 10cps but other than that there is still shields.
