I only have the 3DS demo at the moment, but I have played the full version with friends every now and then.I'd say my best are Mario, Robin, and Zero Suit Samus, at the moment.

I can mostly get along with a lot characters. I want to practice other characters so ye.Right now, zelda is my fav. Her Up A smash move is brutal and her flying kicks.
Pikachu is second, Ike is thrid but heres a list that imo are OP
Shulk: His sword man, its reach is insane
Ike: His sword and his moves
