Improving Avicus

Now Avicus is an excellent server with a great sense of community but I myself was wondering what would you change about the server. I would definitely fix the block lag and a topic that I believe is important is one created by sevo saying that people turn to name calling and being arrogant when behind a computer screen. My question is how do we fix this and what other things need to be improved?
This should be done first; Develop some sort of a stable senior staff team. Not one who will retire one week, then return couple days after. Not one with Admins who constantly rotate within the space of a few weeks. The senior moderators need to be flexible, and able to work together - not try to get each other demoted (yes it happens).
Outside the senior staff; the administrators need to emphasis and encourage that a moderator position isn't all about social power. Moderators are to moderate because they enjoy helping others, not for power. They need to start accepting their mistakes, but only to immediately improve short after. Not only that, they need to be approachable. Not immediately shoot down ideas with their own opinion. Just because they dislike the idea or that it has flaws DOES NOT mean it should be ignored. This links back to equality; just because you are a moderator doesn't mean you are above the rules; or you should treat others with authoritarian power.
