I personally don't find it worth the time to watch anime that are already hundreds of episodes long and/or too mainstream, like the ones you listed... though Code Geass shouldn't count as one, since it only has two seasons so far. The most I've seen were fifty-two episodes of the Fate series (highly, highly recommended), but those were spread out between separate shows — Fate/Zero and Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works], plus a few special episodes.
If you do. Do it at a time when you don't have a lot to do for a few days. If you are like me you will get stuck on a series and you can't do anything else until you finish it.

finished both, Fate/Zero was a little better than UBW for me, atleast the 1st half, but the last fight scene on UBW was top notch but a little cheesy on the end of the fight
