So I decided to make a topic on everyone's favorite thing. SCHOOL. A.K.A. the #1 reason for my (and many others) inactivity ;_; .
This topic can be used to discuss what you're learning, or sharing your schedule for school or even homework help!
Sooo here's my school schedule, it's kinda boring because you can't do much as freshman .-. 1st Period- Principles of Arts and AV 2nd- PreAp World Geography 3rd-Theatre 1 (Probably switching to our Theatre Freshman Select Class :D) 4th-Outdoor Education (eZ PE credit xD) 5th- PreAP Geometry 6th- Lunch <33 7th- French 1 8th- PreAP Biology 9th- PreAP English 1
so feel free to share funny school stories or stuff :)))
day 1: period 1: science period 2 : music period 3 : lunch period 4: french period 5 : math period 6 : english
Day 2: Period 1: VIP/spare (ice breakers for niners) Period 2: Tech (learning static electricity somehow xD) Period 3: Lunch Period 4: French Period 5: French Geography Period 6: Gym
Day 3: Period 1: Science Period 2: Music Period 3: Lunch Period 4: Gym Period 5: Math Period 6: English
Day 4: Period 1: Science Period 2: Tech Period 3: Lunch Period 4: French Period 5: English Period 6: French Geography
Day 5: Period 1: Music Period 2: Tech Period 3: Lunch Period 4: Gym Period 5: French Geography Period 6: Math
Anyway. Period 1: Reading Period 2: Writing Period 3: Science Period 4: Recess/Lunch Period 5: Math Period 6: Special area; changes every quarter Period 7: Social Studies Period 8: Team Time(study hall)/Gym
Period 1: Ethics Honors (Theology) Period 2: AP US History (APUSH) Period 3: British Literature Honors (English/Reading) Period 4: Spanish 3 Honors Period 5: Chemistry 1 Honors Period 6: Calculus AB AP
Period 1: World History AP Period 2: French 2 Period 3: English Pre-AP Period 4: Algebra 2 GT Period 5: Lunch Period 6: Animation Period 7: Chemistry Period 8: Swimming and after the season ends, study hall
Oh by the way; my Recess is basicly a jail. For recess they shove all the kids into the back of the school in a fenced in parking lot. It's so boring, but atleast it's shady.
Each period is 45 minutes 1st: Math 2nd: P.E. / Health 3rd: Science 4th: Reading 5th: Lunch 6th: Study hall / Food FACS (Cooking) 7th: English 8th: World culture 9th: Art
Period 1 : Media Arts Period 2 : Computer Tech (Putting them together, and stuff like that) Period 3 : Careers (ugggh) Period 4 : Programming (am legun)
Period 1: 21st Century Music Skills (best class ever) Period 2: Character and Leadership (basically pre-Sociology) Period 3: Physical Education (swimming, yey) Enrichment A / B*: Regular Movies Lunch C Period 4: Biology Period 5: Geometry
*Enrichment is basically a class that fills up the rest of your lunch time, most of them are sorta fun. There's three lunch hours, you have enrichment during two of them and lunch during one.
Period 1 — Precalculus. The only reason I haven't finished, say, AP Calculus (or something more advanced) by now is because I chose to stay in the lower math classes with all my struggling friends (and because I have no work ethic or motivation).
Period 2 — AP Chemistry. At least stoichiometry — all we've really been doing lately — is easier than connecting concepts with each other in AP Environmental Science, which I took last year. How funny, people are already getting confused in this class...
Period 3 — AP U.S. History. My teacher practically redefines "insane" and "senile". "Don't bet on the Indians, because the Indians always lose." That's literally how he summarized the first few chapters of our textbook. Even so, that's the most sensible thing we've ever heard from him.
Period 4 — Advanced Orchestra. Really wishing I was concertmaster (the "best" violinist of the orchestra who gets to sit in the first, foremost chair), but my potentially biased teacher — as cool of a guy as he otherwise is — seated me behind all the callow Asian freshmen (no racism intended) just because they take private lessons...
Period 5 — AP English. Essentially nothing more than writing impromptu essays and memorizing vocabulary words for weekly quizzes. I would've transferred out by now if I hadn't been forced by my academy to take this class... and if there weren't a couple eye-catching girls here too...
Period 6 — Ceramics. My school closed all AP Computer Science classes for no apparent reason, and this is where most of the people I know flocked to. So far, it's been very liberating; you can take the period off and the teacher wouldn't mind.
When you need to tell someone your name in french, you need to say " J'ai 15 ans" instead of " Je suis 15 ans"
Which sounds extremely weird, its a common mistake I see frequently, just remember that, and everything will be good.... PLS
I was confused when I saw that english peeps say " I am 15 years old instead" It confused me :P
PLS
"When you need to tell someone your name in french" did you mean age? and I learned it the correct way :) so far I can have a basic conversation with someone and I struggle with #0-20, but I have the alphabet down. anyways, J'ai quatorze ans ^.^

Can someone plz explain me what a period is? It's like a lesson or so? And how long do you have school? How long each day?
Basically, a period is a class, each period usually lasts 45 mins to 2 hours. Each period has different subjects (like science, language arts, etc), different teachers, and classes and teachers. I have school from 8:50 to 3:20, but my bus comes around 8:17. A day lasts 6-8 hours, but occasionally you will have 2 hour early dismissals.
