If you're going to leave. Leave! by Doppelganger_ January 7, 2015 at 4:01 PM UTC

Basically what the title says. If your going to leave, leave! Don't make a leaving post and come back 2 days later. If you are making a leaving post then please leave but if you know you are going to come back within two days (including on the forums) and the temptation is strong. Don't make a leaving post. Simple as that. It just spams the forums and is just very unnecessary (especially when you come back).

I think, fake leaving post are perm bans.

IviFetita January 7, 2015 at 4:01 PM UTC

I think, fake leaving post are perm bans.
I found in my infractions tab an infraction where I was banned 1 day only.... .-.

I believe this should also apply to retired staff.
If you are going to retire, you should stay retired.

Agreed +1
If they don't want to be staff anymore, then don't ask if you can be staff again.

Yes.
Because If you took the decision of stop being a staff member, why should you be it again? If you wanted to stop, now deal with it. If you want to be a staff member, you'd never stopped being it.

StewieFG January 7, 2015 at 5:01 PM UTC

If i make a leaving post and say bye to all my friends but mention I'll be active on the forums and teamspeak I think it's allowed.

Pelpelajax January 7, 2015 at 5:01 PM UTC

What's wrong with coming back? What if you enjoy moderating and don't know why you retired? New staff is always welcomed.

Then you aren't leaving. So why make the post in the first place?

The problem is, that the retired staff only have to ask and don't have to write an application/having an interview. They are like, Hey can I be staff again? Then, Sure you can, I'll give you jr mod.
IMO they have to apply again to be moderator again.
And as you said New Staff is always welcomed. They are old staff members...

That's not the case. Senior Staff discuss before the let the Retired Staff come back.

Seeing as you've never been a staff member you don't fully understand what you're talking about. When a staff member retires it is not always because they're leaving the server, most of the time it is because they need to focus on school. When they come back it's usually because school has gotten less overwhelming so they can continue their moderating duties. Why make a moderator go through the whole process again when they have already proven they are capable of being an effective staff member? Also, more moderators are better for the community and server as a whole, I see no cons to this.

I need to focus on school and what not, and my midterm exams are coming up :c

Maybe sometime later this year if the Sr. Staff team approves :)

That is NOT how it works.

Most often you have to re-apply.

They have past staff experience anyway on specifically this server.

They know how everything works...

Leaving post counts as spam doesn't it ! /:)

And no, they don't count as spam usually.

I think it wouldn't be nice just going, people will wonder where you have gone.

JOHN_CENAAAAAAAA January 7, 2015 at 9:01 PM UTC

I can't even debate this one.  If you make a leaving post, I won't be expecting to see you on 12 hours a day.

P.S: Let's try not to flame too much. Thanks in advance.

Just leave, you have been a menace to the forums and trolling alot of threads. It gets annoying.

Epicraft321 January 7, 2015 at 11:01 PM UTC

No need to be a dick to people. Damn.
Some people want to know if their friends are leaving.
I left at one point quietly because nobody cares about me. Lol.

MLGtino January 7, 2015 at 11:01 PM UTC

I have 8 leaving posts spread across a period of about 1 year.

I am in every way guilty of this.

However I've gotten passed that bs and seen that, you know, these kind of posts are retarded.

+1 This is not needed, as many of the Multi-YEAR avicus members deserve a leaving post 127% And if they feel they deserve and want to write a leaving post, then let them!

I don't know why this is such a problem. If they are experienced and well qualified staff members, I don't see why they shouldn't be able to return. Especially since we give all staff who come back Jr. Mod first. Even killerbye who was Sr. Mod was given a Jr. Mod trial.

The senior staff probably had a good reason for not letting you back.

I don't know any details, so I'll just leave it at that.
