GCSE Results, 20th August by awesome_apricot August 19, 2015 at 1:08 PM UTC

SO tomorrow is the release of this years GCSE results. In the UK, when you're 16 you take these exams and they pretty much set you up for your whole life. And tomorrow is when I, among many others, will find out my results...

If you're getting your results tomorrow, good luck, and be sure to post yours on here, because I'm nosey..

And the grade boundaries are out, so check them out on the exam board websites.

(For anyone outside of the UK, the marking goes a little like this:

A* - around 80-90 (%)
A - 60-70
B - 50-60
C - 40-50 (pass - if you get lower than a C in English or Maths, you have to redo it)
D ...
E ...
F ...
G...
And so, but im not sure how many letters it goes to, worst I've heard of is a U, which is literally no marks.)

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE GETTING RESULTS!

Good Luck!
Remember, Year 10 is very important, keep all your notes from Year 10 unlike what I did where I threw my old books in the bin ^.^

FrozenThorn August 19, 2015 at 2:08 PM UTC

I am literally so worried about my Yr 10 Core Science results, especially Physics; that exam paper was the WORST! Good luck to all the Yr 11's, now Yr 12's, I am sure you all did great, even if you didn't revise for some of your exams! XD

I think I should be okay though because I worked so hard for those exams, so hopefully all will be fine!

Again, good luck to everyone, and those doing their GCSE's next year!

I need to give a thing named IGCSE next year.
Apparently, the university of Oxford will be organizing it and I'm already shitting my pants off ;-;

awesome_apricot August 20, 2015 at 12:08 PM UTC

Well to kick it off...

I got 8a's (Biology, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, English language, English Literature, Media and Option PE)
1 B (History)
1 D (design, but that was messed up from the start ;/

And IT hasn't been marked yet, great job, OCR, can't even get stuff marked on time!

What did everyone else get?

iGCSEs and GCSE's are virtually the same.. Just iGCSE's are internationally more recognised ;)

Ingigo August 20, 2015 at 12:08 PM UTC

Well, this is what I got.
I got 3A*
I got 7A
I got 1B
And finally, the subject I most fucking hate, French, a D

IT hasn't been marked yet, OCR messing things up as usual.
So what did you guys get?

Gratz Apricot and Ingi, hope I do as well as both of you in 2 years time... Are you both going into the sixth forms you wanted??

EDIT: I'm also starting my Design course next year Apricot xD Seems like a lot of work.

rinn August 20, 2015 at 2:08 PM UTC

Wha... Wha....

AND "A" IN AMERICA IS THE EQUIVALENT OF A "D" IN EUROPE???
Looks like the other way around - "A" in his chart is 60-70% which is a D in the US.

It's all a rough comparison - they alter a lot!
