Actually, a lot of people play Touhou, and to achieve a world record takes a lot of skill. It's the same in any game, sport or video. It takes a lot of practice to get to that level and imo the determination it takes to get there merits some respect.

Thank you, but I didnt actually beat the game, I game overed at stage 4 yet still beat the old world record because of the strategies I used.
But yeah it seems silly to say "Determination to beat a video game" but the feeling of accomplishing something like this is very nice. Like getting a really good grade on a test or something
Yeah, I don't see a flaw in that. Take a look at LoL (League of Legends) or even MC, to get really good it takes a fair amount of work, and it feels good being able to say you put that effort in and you accomplished something.
