How to get higher fps in 1.8

I've seen quite a few people complaining that they get a low amount of fps in the new 1.8 update. I was rather surprised by that because 1.8 was meant to IMPROVE preformance. Even so, these three little things may make a big difference in your fps. Try them out and see if they help you (They do for me) 1. Options -> Video Settings -> Use VBOS "on" 2. Options -> Video Settings -> Alternate Blocks "off" 3. Options -> Video Settings -> Use VSYNC "off" (Additionally, render distances are now selectable by chunk instead of short, normal, and far. 8 Chunks is the same as the old normal render distance.)
It does. Don't know why. I need 144 fps to get a lag-free game. (It's maybe the display or connection or what ever.) Can't play with 60fps :L (It's just in Minecraft like this, not in other games...)

Same with me, its only with Minecraft. Hopefully Microsoft can help clear up the lag etc as it updates.
Omg thanks. Not xD. It crashed my computer with those settings for some reason.
I'm sorry to hear that... I don't know why it would. My minecraft has crashed recently when I enable VBOS, but if I relaunch it I have it already enabled.
