playing with privilege by Murphh December 8, 2014 at 6:12 PM UTC

Hello... I'm creating this post, so I can link it in chat whenever someone asks rude questions or types rude comments because I am female.  Sometimes it can be difficult being a female gamer because of the following reasons...

Please watch this video and become aware -

I don't think it's an prevalent on avicus or other minecraft servers but on other games like battlefield and counterstrike cat calling and things like that are fairly common

Yeah but that kind of hate goes around, no matter your gender

People tend to get pissed off at each other and trash talk all the time.

Cat calling isn't getting pissed

Cat calling isn't getting pissed
That's not my main point though.

The vid might start from the end so just roll it back to the start
P.S I do realize that if you come out as a woman while gaming you might receive more attention than while being a male gamer. However, i've never seen any female getting hate just from being female in games or in real life. (I'm not counting in videos where this DOES happen from youtube or any other video broadcasting site).
Also, putting in the white gamer privilege is just not necessary. From what i've seen from experience men and women get just as much hate, regardless of the gender, this is not a female problem yo.
I could put in all kinds of bad things people have said about me while gaming, but i'm not going to. If i was a woman, i could just blame this "hate" i've been getting just for being a woman while gaming.
While i think some of the points the people made in this video are quite good, i think this is overall unnecessary and all of these happen to males too.

I watched that video too.

Guess I should be indifferent on the subject.
