I don't think there's anything wrong with it. 
Dating online just works differently than IRL. But it still works. 

With the internet being used more and more in everyone's everyday lives, internet dating and other internet related concepts (shopping, streaming etc.) are becoming more and more normalised.

10 years ago the idea of internet dating was strange.
10 years ago the idea of internet shopping was strange.
10 years ago the idea of streaming your favourite to shows on demand was strange.

It's becoming the norm. 
The internet is just another tool people can use in any situation.
