My headphones has a mic, but my laptop has no mic port, or whatever you call it. So I can't connect the mic to my laptop. So is there no other way I can use the mic on my headphones?
As long as the inputs and outputs are both 3.5mm, all you need is an Audio mic splitter jack Y cable male to duel female adaptor. ( The thing I linked in my next reply :P )
That's an audio splitter, not a mic splitter. If you used an audio splitter only the headphones would work because it only supports audio inputs and not microphone inputs.
You want an Audio mic splitter Y cable male to duel female adaptor.
I found this thing, which is what hopefully you're looking for. There will be better ones out there but this should do, even though it's designed for an iPhone, it should work on a laptop because they're all 3.5mm inputs/outputs. It's quite hard to find male to duel female mic splitter Y cables...
