As always I click on the button play and then minecraft starts. But nowadays, it loads minecraft, deletes minecraft straight away and returns to the previous page. do you guys know hot to change this as I cant play at the moment?

Try to delete your old .minecraft and then run the launcher. Or maybe try to reinstall the launcher because it may be run with another command... If you'd like you can contact me on skype and I can screen share with you to help you figure out the problem. My skype is mhanif62

Try reinstalling it keep all your worlds which are in the saves folder in appdata/.minecraft/saves ! Copy them and try reinstalling it :)
