Hide Touches to the opponent. by Ihze August 25, 2015 at 8:08 PM UTC

It's dumb, If I sneak in the wool, I hope to get out quickly without them knowing, its practically impossible :(

rememes August 25, 2015 at 8:08 PM UTC

+1

hasl August 25, 2015 at 9:08 PM UTC

Maybe it's broadcasted after 1 minute to give you time to get out before the other team can focus on you? Hiding it completely seems a bit unfair in the fact you wouldn't know you'd lost both wools until the game ends. See what I mean? c:

PokerFace August 25, 2015 at 10:08 PM UTC

Yea a slight delay sounds good, but maybe something lower like 30 secs.

Edit: It only tells you on the 1st touch though so I'm neutral now.

Numberz_ August 25, 2015 at 10:08 PM UTC

-1 Makes it harder. This isn't the problem with Avicus CTW the insane amounts of lag is.

If you can't notice someone breaking into your wool/broke into your wool. You have a problem. Also Tourements are supposed to be challenging. This would be asking someone in hockey to light a firework if they were cherry picking.

BoldAndBrash August 26, 2015 at 1:08 AM UTC

Agreed. Instead, make it so it sends the team a message that one of their wools has been placed. (Does it do that already? I don't play CTW, sorry)

Chief_Hacks August 26, 2015 at 2:08 AM UTC

Maybe a ten second headstart would be good because you should be far enough ahead that if they go back to wool room they won't be able to catch up.

Cyclops August 26, 2015 at 2:08 AM UTC

Like Pie said, if you cannot notice someone "sneaking" into your wool, your a bad defender, simple.

Subscriptor August 26, 2015 at 4:08 AM UTC

I agree, think about a message with "someone is breaking your monument", that would be stupid.

ViceTechnicolour August 26, 2015 at 7:08 AM UTC

Maps need to be better organized and regioned before we do this. Considering our region system, it's not really plausible unless we do 70 regions for each side (and shape) of air and mix it with cylinders and cuboids: having one coordinate wrong would screw us up.

If I can, I'll make a regions folder in the maps repo and have an import (import regions/region1.yml) and it'll hopefully play better instead of wicked skybridges and U bridges.

Ihze August 26, 2015 at 11:08 AM UTC

Im talking for the tourney, I dont care about it for the public side, It's so much smarter for tourneys, delays wont matter, as an offender, I dont take 30s to get in and out of a wool unless I see fit.

no mapdev could answer this question but, in walls there is a line says "void-build: false", so if i could make a void build false thingy and then a region of where i want them to build which is in higer oriority it could work

Zegita August 26, 2015 at 12:08 PM UTC

Agreed with cyclops and pie, your fault for not noticing someone coming into your wool room.

It's supposed to be challenging, not simple lol.

I don't think that would be possible as far as I know. That function doesn't work in nebula last time I tried and it's from what I understand supposed to triumph all other regions as the highest priority.

Kylo was working on a fill region for void, so there's always a possibility of using that, too. Smart idea though!

That's why you got ''eyes'' bro.

You should be able to see the guy who runs/sneaks into the wool or maybe defend at the first part of the game?

Actually as a defender I use my feet to detect if someone is getting into my wool

It would be much more of a challenge if nothing said the person was in your wool

Tazz August 26, 2015 at 9:08 PM UTC

Honestly, it's stupid how it is. It needs to be changed. You can not be secret at all. It's more of a challenge for a defender if they don't know the attacker is there. All of you Avicus randies saying it's good like this have no idea of what competitive play is and how it should be.

TheColdCrafter August 26, 2015 at 10:08 PM UTC

I agree cause this is about the same thing as telling the other team that the monument is being mined.

Well if you're so perfect at defending and you see a 4 man push on its way to your wool room and you actually see someone going into the wool room and come out with the wool... Telling your team on TS or waiting for the broadcast, does the same thing, bro.

Capenage August 27, 2015 at 6:08 AM UTC

Well, it has happened.

I'm sorry if i meant anything bad but, that's almost how i defend.

I mean I agree with the demand here as, like Cold said, it's basically saying someone's mining the monument. Personally I think 1 minute delay is better so by then they're halfway across the map before the opposing team realise the wools been taken...

Lol, thats why you have a team, so you can Callout (Tell your teammates that there are 4 individuals pushing your wool), and if they aren't mental, they will fall back and help you. You have no clue to how defend do you?

"Telling your team on TS or waiting for the broadcast, does the same thing, bro."

If you or your entire team don't realize your own wools being taken, that is an atrocious team, and should feel atrocious.

Lol, I never said you can't call your teammates back did I?

Sorry I had an opinion

DonaldMyTrump August 27, 2015 at 7:08 AM UTC

Eh, don't mind either way tbh. The announced touch os part of the challenge but I wouldn't mind it being removed. btw this is only suggeating scrim/tourney wise, right?

Cyclops August 27, 2015 at 7:08 AM UTC

Then why didn't you say that!!?!?
You basically asked Ludcha if he can hold off a 4 man push.

Yeah it's a good idea to have it on **one** minute, but, It should still be longer, like **two** or possibly **three**.

Agreed?

hasl August 27, 2015 at 8:08 AM UTC

I would say it'd depend on wether it's a tourney match/scrim or a public match.

BmB August 27, 2015 at 10:08 AM UTC

In a competitive game you can not have a broadcast saying 'X touched Y wool' that's ridiculous, it completely ruins any sneaky wool capping, and just allows the defending team to stack defense on that wool room, allowing for a really stalematey game.

DTM was stale enough, don't turn CTW that way ffs.

Ihze August 27, 2015 at 11:08 AM UTC

What if I, the offender don't want to instantly leave the wool, and I want to wait till the time is right to leave, there is simply no way that you can give the other team that kind of information if they don't know already, its their fault, and they shouldn't be gifted that kind of information, its their fault for not being aware, dont tell them

Notalgicular August 27, 2015 at 11:08 AM UTC

the problem with avicus ctw is that the team can kill you when your inside the wool room which is pointless. On some maps there is no cover so it is impossible.

That's a challenge in itself. It's what changes DTM from CTW. With DTM you basically just need to get there. With CTW you need to get back. It's good that it's a challenge and not broadcasting the message is, in my opinion, a completely ridiculous idea.

Something like a 10-15 second timer on the announcement would be good.

@Notal You have bulding blocks, use them.

Why is it a ridiculous idea? It's completely utterly ridiculous that it's not already hidden.

ImRaging August 28, 2015 at 2:08 PM UTC

i mean, if you are a good team, you should know if someone has gotten into your wool regardless of the message in chat.

They do in competitive matches but not in public matches
