Introducing MapStack! by Crazy_ January 13, 2017 at 10:01 PM UTC

This is not associated with any official Avicus services.

Hi there. I'd like to introduce MapStack.

MapStack is a general hub (or repository) with the purpose of allowing the community to download maps to play with friends or for scrimmages - all in one central area. Here you're able to easily search for maps you want by name, or by game mode.

This is where you guys come in! If you've created a map and would like to have it added to MapStack, please post your map, along with a link to the original forum thread, and a download (if the thread didn't have one). Please do not post a map unless it is your own.

You can also create a pull-request and add your map yourself on our repository (please read CONTRIBUTING.md). This makes it much easier for us.

By default all maps will have a CC BY-SA licence. Alternatively, your map can have a CC BY-NC-SA license. Please specify if you'd rather this one when submitting maps.

If you have any friends who are map makers, share this forum topic with them. The more maps we get, the more maps you'll have available to download.

I'd like to thank  Matic0B and  mitchiii_ for making this all possible, and helping out so much with everything.

Very useful for my scrim server in the future. Thx

Thank you, this is very useful for both communities. As the other network will close this will be very useful for players who want to continue playing.

I saw something like this on the ocn forums yesterday, I like the idea and stuffs especially for downloading maps for nostalgic feels

TheColdCrafter January 13, 2017 at 11:01 PM UTC

oh also the CC BY-NC-SA license link doesn't work, you should fix that.

CodedGuy January 13, 2017 at 11:01 PM UTC

Are you looking for sponsorships? like for a webhosting to make more advanced and/or a domain?

You probably saw exactly this. We released it for both OCN/Lifeboat and Avicus. I just didn't get around to making the thread here on these forums until today.

TheColdCrafter Thanks for noticing that, I've fixed the link.

CodedGuy We're good just using Github. It meets our needs.

You can have https://avicus.net/maps/map/tree-frog if you somehow find the latest version of it. I don't have it since mapdevs made a bunch of changes u.u

If you are considered a map author, you are fine.

Crimson_Aught January 14, 2017 at 4:01 PM UTC

If you are considered a map author, you are fine.
I've rebuilt original Rendezvous 2, according to my wish and network request. This map https://avicus.net/maps/map/rendezvous-meadows
Haribo left us, so idk

And this is pure mine map https://avicus.net/maps/map/tasty-fight
And this is mine and Vice's https://avicus.net/maps/map/spore

You are much closer to map devs team than me, so you may ask them, is it ok.

Are you only looking for maps that were accepted to the server? And do you want the XML included?

Matic0B January 15, 2017 at 9:01 AM UTC

The collection includes maps that are from the Avicus network. Any map loaded in the Avicus map repository even if its currently not on rotations so maps accepted to Avicus. The XML can be included and its nice if it is but its not a requirement.

Update on the project
There are currently 14 maps available on MapStack from the official Avicus network repository.

If anyone has a map in the official repository then it would be very appreciated if you could submit it,

We've also started accepting unofficial maps (check Overcast Unofficial Repository). If any map makers are interested in submitting their maps to the unofficial list (maps made for Avicus but not in official repository), then it would be very appreciated. Currently theres no unofficial Avicus maps submitted so theres no page for it (so i linked Overcast one).

Maps by  Crimson_Aught & more by ViceTechnicolour and Co. have been added. (There's a total of 32 maps now on the Avicus MapStack)
