PC help. by Lucifist March 6, 2015 at 12:03 PM UTC

So, I need a really good gaming PC, most of you already know that I have a pretty good PC; however, I'm moving to the UK soon and I want to have a PC there because I don't want to carry my current one there then come back.

Budget: 2,500/3,500 pounds.

Gaming - MC, BattleField, TF2, and Far Cry. I'd like to run those games at full settings.

Digital Storm II

4-GHz Intel Core i7 4790K

16GB RAM

1TB

You can go on the digital storm site for more information on it but they are excellent gaming computers.

I'm going to assume 1080p. Are you looking to overclock? Any size preferences?

Pavlo March 6, 2015 at 10:03 PM UTC

With your buget you can go top of the range stuff
Core i7 4790K
- Gtx 970 or 980 (970 performs great but is waaaay cheaper)
- 16+ gigs of ram
- 700 watt psu (any good quality one)
ummm yeah..... idk....what else

EchoB March 6, 2015 at 11:03 PM UTC

Yea you could probably spend around/under 2000 pounds and still get a PC that will play all those games at full settings.

Start customizing! :D You can also look around the website, or choose different tiers for that build (I chose the top one for you, but you can still customize the individual parts)

This will run all modern games at max settings on 1080p.

Also provides great options for upgradabilty. The processor can be upgraded to a higher end i7 if there comes a need for it, you can go as far having four times the amount of ram without removing anything, and you can Crossfire the graphics card if you need it in the future. On top of that, the PSU is good quality and should handle a dual GPU setup.

I left out a case as they are primarily up to preference, but make sure the one you have is compatible with the parts and has a USB 3.0 front panel to utilise all the features.

I chose the 8GB GPU as it may come in usefull in the future and was about 15 pounds more than the cheapest 4gb model.

tbh he should get an R9 290/290X because GTX 970/GTX 970 SLI isn't that logical for 4K

if he wants to go 4K in the future he just has to buy another 290/290X for CF and he's ready to go

At 1080p and 1440p,  the difference is minimal, with the 970 costing a bit less, the difference is, as you say, noted at 4K, given that money isn't really an issue in this case, yeah, you're probably right. I'll change the GPU.

MilkshakesMC March 7, 2015 at 2:03 AM UTC

You should custom make your pc if you want a good one like order diffrent parts
