Donor Kits Violate the EULA by ImJeezus July 26, 2014 at 8:07 PM UTC

EULA takes effect August 1st
Donor kits need to be removed or else.
Just reminding you if you didn't know

Iron July 26, 2014 at 8:07 PM UTC

Its not August 1st yet .-.

resepignev July 26, 2014 at 8:07 PM UTC

This is annoying, the staff members are knowing that and everone too. We don't need everyday another reminder.

ImJeezus July 26, 2014 at 8:07 PM UTC

Still good to be early, august 1st is in 5 days

ImJeezus July 26, 2014 at 8:07 PM UTC

I really don't see any other reminder

Notalgicular July 26, 2014 at 8:07 PM UTC

Lol, the staff have sorted out the new perms and stuff. they're just yet to be implemented

resepignev July 26, 2014 at 8:07 PM UTC

I really don't see any other reminder
Look at page 5 or 6, there are soo much EULA threads recently,

Arachadonic July 26, 2014 at 8:07 PM UTC

Don't worry I'm sure they are well
prepared. Oh and the ranks can stay.. They just can't offer any gameplay advantages over players who haven't donated. Having a prefix doesn't affect gameplay so it's okay.

Mooch24 July 26, 2014 at 8:07 PM UTC

The staff team has made revisions to fit the terms of the EULA. No need to worry!

Kels July 26, 2014 at 8:07 PM UTC

1 =/= sooo many

jracer15 July 26, 2014 at 8:07 PM UTC

Umm I'm sorry I'm very noob what is a donor kit?

A kit for donors only.

NewVoltdrive July 26, 2014 at 10:07 PM UTC

To be quite honest, how are Mojang gonna track every single server?

Cyrus49 July 26, 2014 at 10:07 PM UTC

To be quite honest, how are Mojang gonna track every single server?
You have a point, and the answer is: They Won't. A server with 20 people that has a $5 rank is going to be their last priority, so big servers will be targeted first.

ImJeezus July 27, 2014 at 1:07 AM UTC

To be quite honest, how are Mojang gonna track every single server?
Avicus is quite big.

goldenwalrus909 July 27, 2014 at 1:07 AM UTC

The staff team has made revisions to fit the terms of the EULA. No need to worry!
Is it ok if you can tell us what you did? :o
I'm kinda curious :3

I love how players from ocn complain on the Avicus forums.

Yus, finally a fair gameplay experience...
<3 EULA

Does it affect you if they input their opinion?

Numberz_ July 27, 2014 at 2:07 AM UTC

Does it affect you if they input their opinion?
Nope just saying the topics on EULA were made by active ocn players.

FazeOfKnight1 July 27, 2014 at 2:07 AM UTC

I love how players from ocn complain on the Avicus forums.
Does the simple fact that people are from OCN mean that you need to go against them?

Well I play sometimes but I'm not an OCN regular :O

Numberz_ July 27, 2014 at 4:07 AM UTC

I meant this topic and the one you made those were the only topics I saw.

Sphrynax July 27, 2014 at 5:07 AM UTC

Wait, so if you are a donor, do you get your money back or something?

UnicornSniper July 27, 2014 at 5:07 AM UTC

I have not been on a lot but wanted to know what will happen also, will the kits be gone on nexus like pyro etc?

cinammoncroc000 July 27, 2014 at 5:07 AM UTC

I have not been on a lot but wanted to know what will happen also, will the kits be gone on nexus like pyro etc?
If changes will have to be made, Pyro will just be available to everyone. Which means it'll be more annoying... Just like in actual TF2... oh no O_o

BOSS_Turtle98 July 27, 2014 at 5:07 AM UTC

Hopefully they'll either nerf donor kits to make them more even with other kits, or remove donor kits altogether and think up new kits.

Emmaye July 27, 2014 at 6:07 AM UTC

no you don't

Beautifulistic July 27, 2014 at 6:07 AM UTC

1 day after my birthday.
This. Pisses. Me.

ProfessorUtonium July 27, 2014 at 6:07 AM UTC

Really :/ I was gonna buy gold or emerald when I get back home

Kammeh July 27, 2014 at 6:07 AM UTC

the thing was that the donor kits weren't even really that op. The normal kits have an even amount of pros and cons, but the donor kits may seem good, but they have quiet a bit of cons that can even the playing field. For example, lets take kit ninja in avicade for red alert, ninja, in a smaller map is really not that great cause you run out of room to run, so the normal kit is much better. These donor kits also have holes in them, and i really haven't heard many people saying that they are. I also have a question, will the exp boost be removed as well? im sorry if i'm bothering someone to answer this question, but i'd like to know.
Thanks for reading :D

QFrog July 27, 2014 at 6:07 AM UTC

I'm sure the staff team have been brainstorming for awhile to get it perfect and there will probably be a post on it sometime before August 1st

The_Detonator_ July 27, 2014 at 6:07 AM UTC

Really :/ I was gonna buy gold or emerald when I get back home
You can still buy it. Just you won't get perks.

ProfessorUtonium July 27, 2014 at 6:07 AM UTC

What's the point of it now? Just a fancy name color?

As well as pets and of course the wonderful appreciation from people such as me, knowing that you are spending your money on something that gives you no benefit, merely paying money for other peoples' enjoyment.

If it's your money, surely they would allow you to spend it. Do they donate to charity?

Hail no. Every time I ask them they repeat the same things: "what if the server shuts down" god they get really annoying

Why are you being so hostile?
Either ways I'm not against or supportive against EULA,overall it helps introduce fair play amongst the community, but this will also mean almost no one will donate nowadays as they are just donating for pets, trails and ranks(I'm not sure about XP)

The_Detonator_ July 27, 2014 at 9:07 AM UTC

Im supportive of it.
Yeah I just said that, fight me.
I don't agree with their decision, neither do I support it, however, I, and Avicus, will abide by it.

In games with kits I believe so because it gives donors a gameplay advantage by levelling up faster giving easier access to kits.

BOSS_Turtle98 July 27, 2014 at 2:07 PM UTC

I support the EULA. It makes a better, and more fair gameplay experience for non donors. Also, you're not donating for the right reasons if you're doing it for perks imo.

Tarulas July 27, 2014 at 2:07 PM UTC

Could U keep but hide the xp boost I was gona get emerald for dat o.O

_Phyre July 27, 2014 at 2:07 PM UTC

Hmm, I really dont like the EULA system, although it gives a more fair gameplay to regular players. In faction servers you can donate and get a Butt load of tnt, Gapples, God Swords, and more. But for some servers for example MCSG, will probably have a hard time getting through that. Not sure if Hive is going to get affect to much, but it will force them to make a down-graded package. For small servers, I know one thats been shutdown due to nobody donating and the owner ran out of money to pay for it. It really is sad that Mojang is doing this, I don't know why they just wont make a moderating team to "stop" servers from selling over $1,000 USD kits... Why not? I mean its just going to be easier for servers who actually follow the rules to keep going and be successful. I really hope it doesn't screw MCSG, Hive, Avicus, and Overcast. These are the servers I mostly play on and if they get shutdown, I'm just going to quit. Same with youtubers like Yogscast, they've made Minecraft very popular and now they have to deal with this. All I'm saying is that its just sad that they made this, but in some cases its good due to people who aren't able to donate have a fair game to play and such. So that's pretty much all I want to say :).

Kels July 27, 2014 at 2:07 PM UTC

You don't make sense. You're sorry for dont looking at the whole forums, and you're telling me to look at the whole forums again

vladthegreat100 July 27, 2014 at 3:07 PM UTC

I have an idea... we keep the donor ranks (and people can pay for the ranks if they would like with hard currency) but you could also unlock the kits from getting an exact amount of soft currency which would be pretty high (since the kits are OP) and you wouldn't be breaking the EULA since it is possible to get the kits in a different way, its not pay to win if you can get the kits to win without paying <3

Tigor101 July 27, 2014 at 3:07 PM UTC

We are aware of this :)

NewVoltdrive July 27, 2014 at 7:07 PM UTC

If you like the EULA, then you obviously don't understand what it will do.
No one will donate if it is just hats and trails. They want a reason. No money means no server.
And there has been a fairly big server that tried to run on donations alone. It flopped.
And there will be that person who truly cares about the server and will donate, but most people want the perks.
TL;DR: The EULA will shut down most servers.

Donate = Giving money for almost nothing or nothing in return
Buying = Giving money for something in return.
And people called it donating.

That is some of the worst logic I have read in Minecraft donation talk. DONATING AND BUYING ARE THE SAME THING IN MINECRAFT SERVERS!

Although i have not donated i no ppl who have spent tons of money buying kits on servers and its unfair how that money is now a waste

Shoto_ July 28, 2014 at 1:07 AM UTC

I like how virtually no one reads the EULA, but now everyone's crazy.

It'll shut down servers. Not Avicus. Why?
People may buy the subscription rank, they won't spend as much money, but they'll still spend money. I'm planning on getting diamond monthly. I may have giveaways.

Also how does this turn into a pro EULA/anti EULA thread? also to the people who say only ocn regs like the eula. well i am not a hypixel regular but I support it

Well not avicus, but a lot of big servers will be dealt a blow.

Arachadonic July 28, 2014 at 10:07 AM UTC

Well not avicus, but a lot of big servers will be dealt a blow.
Not really. I used to staff on Hypixel up until a few day ago when I resigned and donors there are going to get to keep everything they bought.
As for people buying ranks, I still think people will support the server since they love it so much.

ParthDarthVader July 28, 2014 at 2:07 PM UTC

And here we go again with non-donors going on about how donor kits are too OP

Kels July 28, 2014 at 3:07 PM UTC

This EULA is wonderful because now, I can use those pay2win donator kits on mineplex, and i may be able to get those donator kits on avicus!

/surface and /tp should also be removed due to the EULA as it gives you an edge over your opponent.

DaGoldBrick July 28, 2014 at 3:07 PM UTC

This is good though isn't it? Now donors can't go pyro anymore and spam spacebar thinking they're good.

Arachadonic July 28, 2014 at 4:07 PM UTC

This server has the most balanced donor/non-donor system I have come across. I find it unfair at people moaning about the kits like pyro being "op". It really is really balanced.

A kit is only as good as the person who uses it.

They need to nerf the armor, still.

kycrafft July 28, 2014 at 4:07 PM UTC

I have mixed feelings about the EULA. It takes away pay2win but might replace it with play2pay. Pay2win isn't even that bad sometimes. I just feel bad for the donators who loose perks because of the EULA

You're stupid. 'Pyro is balanced.'
'A kit is only as good as the person who uses it'
That's wrong, because the people who use this kit aren't good by any means, the kit itself is OP.
Also explain how I can literally go in with my fists, and go on a killing spree without using a sword sometimes?
