[Nebula GM Idea] GnR (Grab n Run)

Jubby & Mustard? came up with this idea a while back but it never got much feedback, then I sprinkled a few ideas in.
There are X amount of minutes. There is 1 Obsidian block in the middle of the map, both teams are trying to break it and bring it back to their base. Although, the game is not over yet. Within those X amount of minutes, the other team is able to try and steal the monument from the other team and bring it to their base. Everyone will have Diamond Pickaxes (Eff IV). If the block is lost or thrown in the void, it shall respawn in the middle of the map once again.
What if one member of the team decides he wants to hold the obsidian the whole game? You should make it so that the obsidian auto spawns back in the middle after 1 minute.

-1 OCN had a CTW map very similar to this gamemode, it was like the same idea.
This sounds very different from CTW. It doesn't even remotely compare. I really like this idea, although perhaps more than one obsidian would keep things interesting. +1
It mixes elements of capture the flag with destroy the monument which is interesting. I'd like to see it in action!
What would a map look like? It seems they would need to be quite unique in that there would need to be no easy path back to the capture point.
Whenever I am available, I will try to make a prototype map for this GM with anyone who volunteers. See how well it would play and if there needs to be any changes regarding this.

+1 This is a brilliant idea, though there should be something that prevents a team from winning if a player from said team is holding the monument at the time. The teams should only win if the block is in its specified location in one base and not in an inventory.
I am bumping this topic (with a signature from senior staff) for more input on the gamemode. The suggestion seemed liked at first by Kylo and any further input would be great to have to develop this gamemode into a reality. This is one of the few plausible gamemodes that no servers have and it mixes 2 of our signature/concept gamemodes of Avicus into a really great platform for both players of both gamemodes to enjoy. I think this would be popular for both sides of the community, and with the positions and map styles I could see it happening.
Now, it's up to you all to make it a reality. I'd love to see some (well designed) maps and some thought into what you guys could turn this into. I would be excited to see this playing and if you have any YAML questions, I'd be happy to answer them, plus it'd be more motivation for the developers to try to add this. Post thoughts please!

No, but you have the right idea. Instead of monument placement (where the obsidian will be placed) I presume the "region" module would be called in a fair bit.

Replying to this. This is a good idea, but you should be able to edit the timer, depending on the map, and it's size.
Idea with this, the monument could be a time bomb. If it's still in your inventory after the timer runs out, it respawns to its original position, and the carrier is killed in the process.
Not sure I said this already, but if the monument is dropped, it's coords will be broadcasted, and it's timed. If not picked up in time, it returns to its original position.
