Dinnerbone confirmed duel wielding! by Galrandir May 28, 2015 at 12:05 PM UTC

Take a look at @Dinnerbone's Tweet: https://twitter.com/Dinnerbone/status/603872971963392000?s=09

Well... I think its confirmed.

ProfessorUtonium May 28, 2015 at 12:05 PM UTC

Yes it should be confirmed.
noted by him in a couple of tweets there is a low chance there are shields. The shield slot was for the duel wielding item slot

Yeah :D seems cool

Eteh May 28, 2015 at 12:05 PM UTC

It seems pretty cool, but I hope Avicus will just stick to 1.8. If it changes to 1.9, I think it will cause upset to most of us.

Aphelion May 28, 2015 at 1:05 PM UTC

I mourn all those who wasted their life on minecraft pvp ;c

ImRaging May 28, 2015 at 2:05 PM UTC

1.8 makes me cry, 1.9 makes me more cry.
The new 1.9 options makes me smile. Dual wielding will be a great mechanic. 1.8 does make me cri. The pvp just sucks.

Loo May 28, 2015 at 3:05 PM UTC

Well... there goes PvP. Good thing I need to quit before next school year so this helps me a lot.

steven5703 May 28, 2015 at 3:05 PM UTC

Lets see how it goes. I like the idea of it, but if avicus really dosent want it then they can just disable it.

QFrog May 28, 2015 at 4:05 PM UTC

You can wield two sword but you can't swing the other one. Don't freak out.

also you can change your main arm

Also, block hitting is NOT a glitch in 1.9! Although with duel wielding being added, mc peh veh peh is G.G

OMG...CHANGE...IT BURNS. LET'S COMPLAIN ABOUT IT AND MAKE IT A BIG DEAL OUT OF IT. Then forget about it two weeks after the full update.

PvP is extremely hard to master as it is... this won't be an update that will be easy to forget about. It will be like learning to PvP all over again.

You guys need to stay calm.

IMO, dual wielding will be fun and it will allow for more options in PVP.
Imagine, if you have a sword and you need to switch to make some extra damage to a hard opponent.

Just dual wield a bow as well and go ham.
Hell, even dual wield two bows and walk out like a champion gunslinger and light up your foes.
You guys focus too much on the negatives. This will not ruin PVP, in fact it will add more depth to it.

And what's wrong with learning the ropes again? Only close-minded people and ones who cannot adapt will complain about this.

You learned it once, you can learn it again.

And in what way does this make minecraft like COD? In Halo 3 you can dual wield, in Star Wars you can dual wield light sabers, in COD you only dual wield certain pistols and SMGs.

Please, stop this.

Okiba May 28, 2015 at 11:05 PM UTC

Dinnerbone has already confirmed that duel wielding bows will not work and if you were gonna duel weild two swords, you could only hit with one
