Macros by pablocz July 25, 2015 at 6:07 PM UTC

I recelty got a razer mouse, and I'm wondering...

Are macros illegal? and if so. Why?

voidloop July 25, 2015 at 6:07 PM UTC

Yes. Because They just give you a Unfair advantage compared to users who don't have that possibility/ Si, Porque te dan una gran ventaja contra otros jugadores que no tienen esto. De todas formas, /rules.

Wait I have a question. Are macros such as "Good game" and all other text-based allowed? I think yes they are because it's not an advantage for the game itselfs

Ingigo July 25, 2015 at 7:07 PM UTC

It's illegal dude, it's like using Autoclicker.
Don't use it, or be prepared to get banned.

nocapsnonumbers July 25, 2015 at 8:07 PM UTC

I once knew a Wiseman who asked this question too.

Ogrey July 25, 2015 at 8:07 PM UTC

Illegal. They give you unfair advantage over others and could get you banned.

I don't believe these are illegal. As long as they don't affect gameplay for your own advantage I guess it's fine.
I knew of a long gone Moderator who would use them for warnings, even though I don't know if that's legal anymore. I don't see any harm on text-based ones, though, as long as it's not used to spam or anything.

What if let's say I assign an extra button as slot 3?

No this can't be forbidden, because you actually could do this in the minecraft settings, so it's not an advantage.

I believe chat macros are allowed.

Depends on the type of macro. I've got lots of macros with the Macros Mod, and I mean a lot. However they are all command, chat and item macros, not autoclickers or auto bridgers or whatever.

Be more concrete please and we'll give you a concrete answer.

Upsoar July 25, 2015 at 11:07 PM UTC

I have a button on the side of my mouse that I have set to F5, is that allowed?

Yes, it's just keybinding.

piratewithgun July 25, 2015 at 11:07 PM UTC

What are macros?

sorry for being a noob

/Ban Upsoar Using F5 is not allowed!

That's fine, vanilla MC allows you to set it like that.

pablocz July 26, 2015 at 6:07 AM UTC

well thanks, i don't really use them i rather jitter click. But, thanks for the info.

Keyboard macros and mouse macros allow short sequences of keystrokes and mouse actions to be transformed into other, usually more time-consuming, sequences of keystrokes and mouse actions. In this way, frequently used or repetitive sequences of keystrokes and mouse movements can be automated. Separate programs for creating these macros are called macro recorders

It's just a extra key on your mouse/keyboard which you can define a action to, so If you want to add the "click" function to the extra key (macro) you can set it up as that.

Macros make your life so easy, to the extent of hardly having to do several things by yourself.

I don't think I'd ever say I don't have them, however I always explain what macros I have because in a general basis people associate macros with autoclick so badly.

Surely that's a key binding, not a macro...

Thanks :) so what sort of thing do people use them for apart from autoclicking?
