What's your internet speed? by Joao_Victor July 7, 2014 at 6:07 AM UTC

Take a test here: http://www.speedtest.net/ to find out your upload and download speed.

When you're done, click "Share Result"

Then go to "Image"

And copy the link, and paste it here.

Mine:

Nolan is faster than 69% of the USA

Numberz_ July 7, 2014 at 6:07 AM UTC

Don't know how to use the link it gave me.

Don't know how to use the link it gave me.
What I did:

After you take the test, click on "Share" or whatever, go to the "Image" tab and copy the link, paste it into your browser, and copy and paste the picture onto the forums.

mine is pretty good from what I remember, ping has to be low (to be good) , I have a pretty good download speed and a pretty good upload (comparing to others)

But I am rather sad of the results thinking I have rogers high speed internet -_- (with unlimited downloading memory) <3

I'm gonna make a little guide explaining what these things mean:

1. You most likely know what megabytes are if you own a computer, but Internet speed is measured in megabits. 1megabyte=8megabits , so my \actual download speed is 1.08 megabyes/sec                                                                                                                                                                                     2. These numbers mean a lot while downloading and viweing/streaming videos but not in gaming. You could have a Gigabit download speed, but still lag because the connection is so choppy. What matters in gaming is how constant your connection is, rather than speed.                                          3. Ping. Ping is how long it takes for a packet of data to reach the destination server and make it back to your computer. You can try pingtest.net  and get this:                                                                                                                                       4. Jitter is the variance in ping while it is testing, so it highly controls lag for games. For example my bing went from 30ms-32ms, so my jitter is 2ms                                                                          5. Packet loss. How many packets are lost in travel if you have anything over 0-1% ya got a problem (like above)                                                                                                                                                                                                                              (you can put this on your first post if you want to)
