Leaving / Personal Posts - Your Opinions? by Porkyyy May 8, 2015 at 12:05 AM UTC

So recently there has been a lot of discussion regarding why certain personal topics are not allowed, and some are.
Several members of the community clearly want some input as to how this rule should be enforced, so please discuss here.

If you believe topics that may include:

should or should not be allowed, please state your opinion below, as well as a reasoning as to why they should or should not be allowed.

Please discuss this below, and the staff team will consider your perspectives on this issue.

Regards,
-Porky.

what about name changes?

Porkyyy May 8, 2015 at 12:05 AM UTC

what about name changes?
Added to the list, thanks.

My_Old_Man May 8, 2015 at 12:05 AM UTC

They should be allowed, but only in a section about 'personal info' or some stuff like that. The forums are getting overflowed with all these personal posts, put them in a different area of the forums, not in the recent discussions, and people who are interested in the lives of other players can look in that section.

Okiba May 8, 2015 at 12:05 AM UTC

https://avicus.net/forums/4a93dfd66 does this count as a name change post?

No, those are allowed since they do not accentuate the "name change" part as much as the "AMA" part.

Okiba May 8, 2015 at 12:05 AM UTC

oh, ok ^-^

That has actually been suggested several times. I'll bring it up with the rest of the staff team.

Posighdun May 8, 2015 at 12:05 AM UTC

I do not like any of these types of posts except the demotion and leaving posts because i feel it is necassary for people to know if someone is leaving or the reason behind a demotion.

cinammoncroc000 May 8, 2015 at 12:05 AM UTC

How about people who return after a long time? Are they allowed to make an Introduce Yourself "I'm back" post?

It's self-centered, but I think it's nice to see members come back after they've been gone. Of course, leaving posts are frowned upon, so I'm not sure if returning posts would fall under the same category.

SWEET_Johny May 8, 2015 at 12:05 AM UTC

Does it really matter?

Porkyyy May 8, 2015 at 12:05 AM UTC

Does it really matter?
At this moment, yes.

A lot of users have been bringing this up recently, so we would like to give the community a chance to voice their opinions on this issue.

ProfessorUtonium May 8, 2015 at 12:05 AM UTC

There should be a section for "Perosnal Posts" that don't appear on th tfent discussions

OriginaI May 8, 2015 at 12:05 AM UTC

Im fine and actually like reading these post.. But I agree their should be a separate section for these post.

MidnightBeats May 8, 2015 at 1:05 AM UTC

keep them.

if they come back or go back on it.

punish.

easy

PokerFace May 8, 2015 at 1:05 AM UTC

Just leave personal issues out of the equation.

Tarheelkiwi May 8, 2015 at 1:05 AM UTC

From your list:

SirCyaniide May 8, 2015 at 1:05 AM UTC

I think all of those are ok. As long as it has to do with Minecraft/Avicus. On the other hand, threads that ask for a reply on a sensitive/personal topic aren't so bad, as long as they're appropriate, necessary and not too personal.

PublixEmployee May 8, 2015 at 1:05 AM UTC

Demotion: Yes.
Leaving post: if it is a perm leave.
Personal issues: I actually really like this type of post. keep em mate.
Personal achievements: Honestly, it depends. If someone just got like 20k kills or something no. But if someone gets something more huge like making a highschool sports team or getting accepted at a good college it can start a good discussion with people that like that kind of stuff. If ya don't like to read those types of post then you don't have to click on the thread.
Name Changes: no. Just no.

DonaldMyTrump May 8, 2015 at 1:05 AM UTC

I'd like these allowed but moved to a section where it doesn't appear on the recent topics like team threads.

Jahaj May 8, 2015 at 1:05 AM UTC

That's 5 players (including me) that support allowing these posts, just in a different section that doesn't show up on the "Recent Discussions."

Robin_DD_J May 8, 2015 at 4:05 AM UTC

I was just going to say that.

halfrest May 8, 2015 at 5:05 AM UTC

I think they should be allowed... But to a certain extent.

If they are meant for selfish purpose such as boasting, etc. then no.

I like reading demotion, leaving, self-achievement, etc. posts because they show a player's personality and what they're going through.

RightSide May 8, 2015 at 5:05 AM UTC

I think demotions should be allowed Becauae the coo, unity want to know why someones as been demoted :)

Notalgicular May 8, 2015 at 6:05 AM UTC

only permanent leaving threads, no name changes and demotions are ok

emilizzle May 8, 2015 at 7:05 AM UTC

Personal issues can stay on the forums. We are a community and we should help each other.

When we are at it, it should be punishable to spam your youtube content on multiple posts. I understand if you have ONE main "hub" where you post all your videos and everytime you upload a new video.

You don't need ten different posts for the ten different gameplays you upload, like Top 5 and so on.

There's no reason for you to bring me into the situation, you have already told me how you feel so please stop! I know your talking about me because I am the only one to do Top 5, also it is really rude to talk about people behind their backs.

Why do you get so offended? I can give you another example to show you it isn't only you.

It doesn't end either, that is the problem and why I think it should be punishable.

  • Demotions: Only if the person who was demoted makes it.
  • Leaving Posts: Yes.
  • Personal Issues: Yes.
  • Personal Achievements: No.
  • Name Changes ("What should I change my name to?"): No.

  • Sevoo May 8, 2015 at 11:05 AM UTC

I remember I made a post explaining about my inactivity and an apology for bad behavior for the past 6 months (rage, excuses, swearing, etc) and it got locked.

I was very hurt because all I wanted to do was apologize and explain whats happening to me.

mustafa May 8, 2015 at 12:05 PM UTC

Legoche May 8, 2015 at 2:05 PM UTC
