Avicus API? by resepignev May 6, 2015 at 7:05 PM UTC

Is there, or can there be an Avicus API? I think it would be great fun to play around and try to make a mobile client / app for the forum/server. So is this possible?

I remember before Omega was released there was a avicus.net/api. I do think it is gone now though.

Well, it's not documented... But it's JSON. Here's some examples, there's quite a few other queries:

https://api.avicus.net/v1/status
https://api.avicus.net/v1/user/KyloCode

It might work..

Perfect! That's what I searched for. Kind of.
But let me ask a question: what happened to avicus.net/api?

It was outdated more or less.

Well, after researching stuff in the internet about a way using jquery to get the arrays from the api site, I saw that it isn't possible to use jquery xD
There is a problem called "Same Origin Policy" this means that you can't query information of a HTTPS site with a script that is running on a HTTP site (I think that's the problem).
Another problem is that this "same origin policy" is blocking scripts to access the data because a different host (it needs a exact match). So this means you need the api page url like that: http://www.api.avicus.net/v1/status, but that site doesn't exist.
PS: If someone knows how to fix these problems, tell me <3

it would be good if they did that and they should also add in all the other nebula maps that they removed
