I understand that to become a map developer you get hand-picked.
However, if someone really wants to be a map developer, how do they increase their chances?
Do they have to do something to show that they are good at making maps, inspecting maps, or how exactly does this work?

Doing YAML's, making maps, giving critique, and all that good stuff. I'd talk to Para for some reliable info :P
