Recent Promotions / Demotions

There have been quite a bit of promotions and demotions / retirements  since our last official community update.

- Tomqss has been promoted to Junior Moderator
- Wulfcaspice has been promoted to Map Developer
- Hete has stepped down from Moderator
- Sayah has stepped down from Translator and Referee
- vladthegreat100 has been demoted from Media

Tournament News

New tournament announcements have been made! Tazz has created an information post for the upcoming tournament called "Battle of Eternity". The event team has been working hard to make this happen, and finally it has been announced that the tournament will start on June 1st. If you have any questions regarding this tournament, Edans has made a Q&A post. 

"Ask the Senior" sub forum

Ask the Senior sub forum will be completely dedicated to allowing community members to ask any questions they may have for the Senior staff team. Please keep in mind that troll questions will be ignored! All staff member complaints must still be sent to [email protected]

Avicus Public Relations

A new twitter has been created to allow the senior staff team to advertise a lot more. This twitter will server as a contact resource to gain youtuber sponsors, and to furthermore show off Avicus's progress (lets get more players!) It is @AvicusPR

Shortened policies!

New shortened policies have been created by Slicy and Arigenn to make them more manageable, and easier to read. All staff are expected to follow these, and you may find them here. 

Avicus Community Slack

The Administrator team is still encouraging you all to join community slack, just remember to contact an admin to be added to it! Thanks to PieZ PieZ, we have official rules in place now that users will have to stick to, although they are quite straight forward. In addition to this Jahaj has been promoted to Community Administrator!

No offense, but did you make any tournaments during your time as admin which was like 2 years I believe? I mean, I recall one happening in MCZone that was apparently really unorganized and played really bad, too.

Was never involved in tournaments. I considered them to be pretty pointless, usually unorganised and dull events.

This is actually the very first tournament I feel has been properly organised but in the end, who are you to judge..? I bet you've never taken part of a tourney nor have organized one and yet you're ranting about them, how sad.

It's purpose is mainly to reach out to YouTubers for advertisement, the original account is still used though. 
I agree, can't seem to understand why the main account with actual media to show activeness isn't going to be used for advertisement.

I ended up pointing out 1 of your 6 criticisms since that was the only one that 'riled my feathers' (LOL). Aside from that, you can't really call yourself 'mature' after repeatedly starting flame wars over an MC forum (Which I assume were taken seriously).

Wouldn't be surprised if you had nothing else to do irl. Just stop.

1) Explain how the tournament is poorly organised. This has so far been one of the better events that's been hosted. In addition the tournament hasn't even started yet. How can you say its poorly organised when all that's happened is that there have been like 3 posts about it and registration opened and closed. 

2)You have no idea how to run a fucking tournament, i didnt see you run one when you were admin.

3)All you do is post negative stuff and do jack shit to help.

Also, you say 'A poorly organised tournament'. You would know that how? We've done 5 posts, how is that disorganised? It will most likely be the most organised tournament so far, yet you wouldn't know that because you don't play, so why are you still here? It's pretty amusing how you say tournaments are terrible in other posts even though tournaments are keeping Avicus alive and that's why 90% of regulars are here. Please, learn your stuff before commenting random stuff.

Criticism should still be taken on board.
Even though Howise does it in a unique way, how about instead of trying to take shots at him to make yourselves feel better, you take what he has to say on board.

I mean Christ, if you people can tolerate Zac and Michsel on a regular basis, then this should be nothing in comparison.

Even though it's blunt, there are points that Howsie raised in his original post that can be taken on board by the staff team.
And if you're going to say to me, "well what are those points Snow?"

I agree with this. Just give Sr staff access the the main Twitter account, and allow them to post what they would post on this second Twitter on the first. As it is, there's only ever a few posts a week on the Twitter to update people on some news worthy thing.

Could improve the activity on the main Twitter too. Which is something great.

"poorly organised tournament" smh. this is definitely one of the best organised tournaments in terms of information and you're saying it's poorly organised. I'd like to see you do a better job mr think you know it all. It seems to be that when you retired I guess you became a total cunt because all that power was lost from you. If you really want to help this community stop acting like a complete prick and actually give some good feedback instead of just listing off things - give reasons for your fucking answer how on earth can you accomplish something without giving a reason / evidence.

just basically stop with all the continuous shittalking on the forums because no offense dude you're simply going to end up getting a lot of hate from this community which you sort of already are because of your attitude. This was a good community update Arigenn keep this up because the more you do this the more you interact with the community and keep them up to date with the latest news :).

This has all become very repetitive, both the updates and the reactions to them.

I wish we could progress past it all.

EDIT: By repetitive, I mean they repeatedly try to fix and smooth out the same problems over and over again, if only slightly different. I fail to see much progress with these core issues.

I wish we could progress past it all.

Now this is fair feedback, and I can agree.

We've just overcome a large bump in the road, and we've just started ironing out our issues here. Both the admins sat down and worked through exactly what we are gonna do in the next month, and it all sounds very exciting. All I can say it stay up to date with our upcoming community posts, and we'll see where we are in another month.

I personally am thankful for this post. I recently started playing on avicus and a community update is helpful. Good work :D

While the server is not as big and successful as it used to be, I still think that this server is awesome; I love the community and the server itself!

In regards to all the hate going on in this post. I think that it is immature of people to randomly point out issues, without any solutions. I get that you probably just want to help the server improve, and while identifying faults in the server is important, it is still rude, unfair and generally just unkind towards staff to call their work bad.

I also believe that people responding to said replies have been, in some cases, acting immature as well. Responding to people with personal insults based on their opinions is just ridiculous imo; If your trying to squash someones argument based on them 'flaming' then don't throw insults at them.

I don't want to fuel anymore fire, I just wanted to state my opinion.
