Avicus Staff Code of Conduct
Overview
The Code of Conduct should be upheld on a regular basis by ALL Avicus Staff. Failure to uphold the code may warrant a warning or even a demotion. Furthermore failure to apply this code to decisions that senior staff make will result in HEAVY punishments. Staff members MUST know where this document is located but it is up to them to read it.

1.1 - General Principles
• Loyalty to fellow staff members and the network.
• Respect and uphold the good name of the network.
• Demonstrate the behaviours of honesty, integrity, quality and trust at all times.
• Carry out the duties in a professional, responsible and diligent manner.
• Kindness towards all users and staff alike.
• Creative and fun in requiring situations.
• Generous in their time and skills.
• Acceptance and Tolerance of all beliefs; religious or non-religious.

1.2 - Duty Performance

In performing their duties of work, staff are expected to observe the following obligations:

  1. Be familiar with and observe the rules, policies and procedures of the network; Comply with all the rules of the network; Be aware of the position of trust held and the increased obligation on you when dealing with members of the community and at all times act honestly, with maturity and integrity; Protect and respect the rights and reputations of all individuals - no matter what server they may come from (this includes regulars on the network); Avoid behaviour that could reasonably be perceived as harassment, intimidation, discrimination on any basis, bullying or threatening in any other way;

  2. Being a staff member also means that they must observe the obligations of being active on ALL Avicus platforms. This includes being active on the website, server, TeamSpeak and Avicus Staff Slack.

1.3 - Behavior Agreement

  1. While you may express different views than that of the staff team, under a retirement/demotion, you are not permitted under any circumstance to be aggressive to us. You are reserved the right to be constructive, polite, helpful, and any criticizing should be kept in the best interest of the server, and not directed toward a certain group or person.

  2. You may not join any other groups or teams that justify hate speech against the staff team, and information should still be respected (see above). While you may have right to assembly to improve the staff team with other community members, you will not have any justification to promote malicious behavior and be toxic.

  3. By joining the staff, you agreed to represent the server in a good light. All Avicus services, especially official ones, should have immediate focus to not have disrespectful intention to the server, and toxic behavior will be terminated on sight. If you have staff complaints as well, they are to be directed to the administrators or senior moderators, and absolutely not to the community for blaming, shaming and flaming.

  4. Breaching of this will result in a harsher punishment for disrespect, and will be interpreted by the staff team how they please. Depending on the circumstances, you may be silenced through bans.

1.4 - User / Account Policy
Your Minecraft account must be yours and yours only. Your account must not be accessed by other people regardless if this was with or without permission. You are the only person responsible for your Minecraft account.

1.5 - External Reputation

  1. Since you are a staff member of The Avicus Network, you are representing the server as a whole. You MUST abide by the rules of the server you are connected to. This also means you have to act maturely at all costs, as well as setting a great example for younger users of a particular community.

  2. If you fail doing so, demotion could be the consequence. The Administrators do not want role models of a network going around to other servers and breaking their own rules.

1.6 - Authority Respect
You may not lie to authority, abuse your powers, mislead the community, mislead your fellow staff, break the rules on other networks, be immature, create groups that's purposes are to harm a person, or group of people, be irresponsible, lead others into retirement, discriminate, be inactive, be disobedient, or represent the server poorly in public. This policy will be enforced on all staff members (senior moderators, moderators, and junior moderators), and administrative action will have to be taken through staff warnings, or demotion. In return, authority will treat you with respect and fairness.

1.7 - Leave of Absence Policy
Staff members may not take Leave of Absences over 3 weeks long, if it means that you will be inactive on a particular Avicus service. If you desperately need to leave, you may request a temporary demotion from your position until the time that you decide to return. You may not make constant Leave of Absences, and you may not make LOA’s to avoid using a particular Avicus Service.

1.8 - Staff Warning System
-  As a staff member, you are given 3 points (or strikes in this case). Points can be lost through breaching policy and misconduct as a staff member. Points can also be lost from TeamSpeak infractions

1 Point - A staff member may receive a 1-point staff warning if they committed a minor-medium breach of the CoC, or have done questionable actions that reflect poorly on their rank.

2 Point - A staff member may receive a 2-point staff warning if they have committed a medium-major breach of the CoC, or have done numerous questionable actions that reflect poorly on their rank.

3 Point  - In the event that a moderator receives a 3 point warning, they will be demoted without question.

1.9 - Confidentiality Agreement

All information you receive as a staff member on the Avicus network may be perceived as confidential, hence, you must maintain the privacy of all documents that may contain confidential information. If you refuse to uphold these ideas, you will be demoted and under certain circumstances may be banned. Finally, you agree that when retiring, the documents you created intended for a higher-up is not distributed either, and that you do not secure rights for them. You can be revoked permission at any given time with or without consent.

2.1  - Administrator Power and Authority
Administrators may make executive decisions towards a particular problem as they are the heads of the server. They may take action if the vote is unanimous (including the owner), and do not require evidence to perform these actions. Staff members or community members MAY NOT argue against these decisions, and the Administrators have the right to ignore requests for these actions to be undone.

2.2 - Administrator Demotions

Administrator demotions are handled by the senior moderator team. An administrator may only be demoted if there is an unanimous vote within the senior staff team. No other user or group may impeach an administrator. An administrator or senior moderator should be given 3 days before demotion to wrap up projects, prepare posts, clear up things, assist with others in transition, and contribute final works before gone. They are alerted before their demotion, and after the third day, gone.

Groups that are formed to assemble and impeach a senior moderator or administrator should be given no mind and ignored, as shutting them down causes unnecessary drama. If there are valid complaints, it should be processed through the owner.
