ResourcePile - Avicus Map Collection by Crazy_ December 28, 2017 at 6:12 AM UTC

I'm sure most of you guys know ResourcePile for the collection of OCN maps we have available to download. When OCN shut down last year, we launched the map section of ResourcePile, and have since collected map author permission to over 600 maps. What most of you might not know, is that we also have an Avicus section for maps on ResourcePile.

Now that Avicus is closing, we thought it was the perfect time to really start focusing on the Avicus map section. We want to be able to preserve a part of Avicus' history, like we were able to do with OCN. We hope that this will also be a valuable tool for servers that wish to continue the Avicus legacy.

So if you're a map author, we're asking you to consider allowing us to add your maps to our collection. We offer a choice in licenses, which dictates how servers can use your maps. If you'd like to put some form of limitation on the use of your maps, selecting the non-commercial license only allows servers that do not generate revenue to use your maps. Otherwise, your maps will get a commercial license, and anyone will be free to use your maps on their server - so long as they credit the map author(s).

I personally won't be using these but its a good feeling to know that Avicus won't completely disappear. I hope some of the older map authors also allow addition of their valuable icons to this collection.
