Hello everyone, I just wanted to apologize for the recent trolling on the forums. You all reacted to this situation correctly, and I thank you for that. All six of the trolls have been web banned.
You think you can stop us? We all have degrees in computer science, and are feisty for action. We are part of the 4chan hackers from OCN and what ever you throw at us we can by pass. Over 120 alts at our disposal, and we can get more as we please. We don't feel like commiting federal crime so your servers aren't going to get knocked down or anything, we're just having fun, and you can't do a thing.
Don't you have anything better to do on Christmas Eve than making Overcast look terrible?

We just met, too bad we have to say goodbye so soon! You'll earn a web ban as well for taking part in this malicious attack on our website, and server.
It is a real shame they have decided to do this at such a special time of year , people put lots of hard word in to both OCN and Avicus and i would not like to see either community fighting over purely who came first;It's a poor excuse of a reason to ruin other peoples days , i'm sure these mods dealing with you would rather be enjoying their Christmas.

I believe he said something along the lines that it's not necessary and it'd take too much time to code, and that it doesn't happen frequently enough to warrant prevention. Think of it like this; how would you block every site ever that has malware or porn? And how would it block gifs posted straight onto the site or stop tinyurl stuff?

I agree with you there, but cant they try? I do understand ivy is busy, but.. come on at least try to do something to prevent attacks that can potentially destroy the whole server... And trust me, it can happen...

You're exaggerating. What should Ivy "try"? I already explained there really IS nothing to "try". Come up with an idea first.
That's like saying DDoS protection is something small.

I was manly referring to some of the other stuff he had suggested, malware and phishing protection woudld be great, but it has some obvious flaws that Para pointed out.
"degrees in computer science" oh good for you, you got a degree that took 2 years + taking tests, studying, etc. just so you can troll people on the internet and ruin peoples day. And it's really just sad if these trolls have to find fun out of other peoples misery. Go ahead, spam, troll, ddos, but just realize, how pathetic you're making yourself look.
I feel like I need to remind some of you that you shouldn't give these guys the attention they crave.
Don't respond to their posts and don't encourage their threats. Whether you have good intentions or not, by simply replying to these people, you are encouraging them.

Sorry.. I wasn't specific. I meant that people shouldn't reply to these spammers.
The staff should definately take action but they should do it with the utmost professionalism and shouldn't reply back to these attention seekers.
