From the title you can probably assume what this is. It's a thread where Walls updates will be posted/talked about.

Any suggestions are very welcome. You can use the comments to give them, or put them on this thread.

Some guidelines for this thread:
Any comments that the staff believe are breaking any of these guidelines will potentially be archived.

Any minor or major updates will be updated here

Not really. Let's play this out skipping a lot.

Walls stays how it is -> Avicus gets more players -> everyone still complains about how bad Walls is and how it should be removed. 
Nothing is fixed.

Fix Walls now -> Avicus gets more players -> Avicus gets players for main Nebula-type gamemodes, and some for Walls (adding more players)
Walls is fixed, and more people are on Avicus.

Just because we don't have enough players doesn't mean it won't help in the future to do updates... That's like saying that Avicus shouldn't do any updates until more people play on it. It makes no sense.

Wasting time on walls is the problem. Your theory is not going to work. People actually play the gamemodes that need to update, People do not think walls is bad, its worthless at this point.

It's hard to get more Walls players as people just prefer other game modes on this server. Also why would players be attracted to avicus' Walls when you can play walls on other bigger servers with more players? Most of the people who use to play walls left/moved on when they removed it and it's hard to get people to play it again

Maybe. Either way it will help, even if it's a little bit. Plus, I was promoted to Builder for the purpose of helping to fix Walls. I was planning to try to fix it anyway, but now I can work closer with the Map Devs and have access to things that help. This also allows the Map Devs and other Builders to work on other gamemodes, like DTM, DTC, CTW, etc. 

Plus if nothing else I'm enjoying building maps and fixing maps that need it. That's the whole point of playing anyway, right? To have fun? Let's say this does go absolutely no where, which I don't think it will, the worst that's happened is a small waste of time, that wouldn't have been used doing anything better for the server, at least building-wise. You act like it has a major effect on other things.

I don't know how its going to work or if its even possible but maybe change "ore patterns" every time a walls game is played, Like how you don't have the same UHC map every single time, Idk how that will work but its not's fair dat u remember where teh diams are located (ಥ﹏ಥ), But yeah, I was also recommend maybe a tutorial for Walls, like how theirs one for Nebula ?

Anyways, I hope Walls doesn't die, sure you dont automatically get placed with a match about to start, but I hope it doesn't just disappear , Hopefully you fix it !

But I can't focus on that. That's a whole different department of staff that I'm not involved in. The best I can do is prepare Walls for the new players that will hopefully come from advertising.

I like this. I know players who played walls when it was brought back, but after a while stopped since the kits weren't up to par and the best maps weren't even brought back. Hopefully this will bring those players back into playing. Thanks for putting this effort in even when other players shoot down walls constantly.

How so? This is the first time Walls has been re-added. All this post is doing is making the updates for Walls more known and the updates giving people a reason to play Walls.

Hypixel walls is practically dead. (Had only 100 people playing last time I checked which is nothing for a 50,000 player server) Why play walls on avicus with 3 people when you can go to hypixel? 

Your average playerbase can't even fill a single match.

Why would you want to split up the playerbase even more than it already is?  

Why wouldn't you put your time into something that players actually play? 

It was removed for a reason as was skywars and it should stay dead as nobody plays it.

Point? Walls maps aren't made have perfect gameplay with maximum players anyway. That would honestly suck. The maps are made to hold 1-6 or 8 people depending on the map. A full Walls match wouldn't be fun anyway.

How would this be splitting it up? We can all agree that Walls, even if it was played every day or most of the day, there's not always going to be a server with people on it. When those times happen, the players would go to Destroy, Capture, or Conquest. Plus, like I explained when I responded to dev_revs. -

Even if it's a waste of time, I'm the only one officially working on it, beside the small amount of time it takes to upload maps and check/fix XML if it's needed and the players helping.

Skywars was a project that I think anyone can agree, a lot more effort could've been put into it. Skywars was actually a fairly promising gamemode for Avicus, it was just set up terribly.

Well, this is just flat out false. Not sure what else to say. Me and Prodigy sat on Walls02 for not even 20 minutes while we were fixing the kits and in that amount of time there were at least 10 different people that joined and asked us to start it/play with them. Sadly we had to tell them no for then because we were fixing the kits, but it definitely showed me and can be used as proof that people will play Walls, they just don't want to be the ones to actually start the game.

Am I missing something?
Well, beside the fact that the comment directly above yours is talking about knowing many people that would have kept playing Walls if the kits weren't broken. And now that those are fixed, those same people can come back on and play Walls with the new kits that are fair and work on every map with even outcomes.

I like this. I know players who played walls when it was brought back, but after a while stopped since the kits weren't up to par and the best maps weren't even brought back. Hopefully this will bring those players back into playing. Thanks for putting this effort in even when other players shoot down walls constantly.
Thank you. :) It's good to know that some people still enjoy Walls. Now that kits are updated you can play! :D New maps and updated maps will be coming out in the next few days. Updates will keep coming after that as well. :)

Not sure you understood what I said. I'll give you a bit more detail. The Map Developers and other Builders are focused on DTM and other gamemodes.

Not sure you understood what I said. I'll give you a bit more detail. The Map Developers and other Builders are focused on DTM and other gamemodes.

He is right in every single point he made and you are just disagreeing with him cause youre a dedicated builder for this gamemode and you cant accept the fact that its dead and it should not come back

    • Raised Height Limit
    • Made the area below middle accessible.
  • Garden
    • Raised Height Limit
    • Added lapis
  • Hawaii
    • Raised Height Limit
    • Edited the sides and middle to have a bit less water, hopefully to fix gameplay.
  • Mt. Blizzard
    • Raised Height Limit
    • Mobs no longer spawn

+1 I like the idea. The reason it was removed, for now, is because monsters were spawning very erratically. Every time that either Mt. Blizzard or The Village would be played there would be 10+ monsters on one side, and none on others. I like the idea, but they would have to be put there. 

I have to disagree on height limits. Skybases were a huge part of Walls back before it started dying. I think when the height limits were lowered it caused a lot of people to lose interest in Walls. The skybases give Walls more options and allows people do have fun building skybases, or rushing. Personally, some of my favorite memories from Walls are from buidling skybases. They are fun to build, and they just overall add another layer to the game.
