EDIT: We've pushed beta to the live servers. Avicus now supports 1.8 through 1.9.2 (which was released today).
Test Avicus 1.8-1.9 right now using beta.avic.us to connect.
Report game-changing bugs! Some things such as your player name not appearing correctly in the tab list is a result of poor 1.8-1.9 support and is unlikely to be fixed. The boss bar is also a bit glitchy.
Edit: We're running 1.8 with modifications to support 1.9 clients. 1.9 features are not enabled.
We're looking into what is best for Avicus right now. Support for both is where we are currently heading towards. What's next is uncertain.
It is pretty sad. For some reason everyone hates 1.9. If it goes on, 1.9 will be the last one version.... People should get used to it, and that is all.

Why should people get used to something that they just don't like? Just because you are ok with 1.9 doesn't mean that the others have to be too
I hope you know we get like a quarter of ocn's players or even less. If we update we will get 3 players every day, and that's when all the Americans and shit on. When it is late for Aussies we will get 1 if we're lucky
Well, just an idea... Maybe there can be two servers, for 1.8 players and for 1.9 players, because there are people who like 1.9 (30% we can say) and there are people who like 1.8 (70% we can say). I don't know why we are making in 1.9, when most of people hate it. Staying on 1.8 and waiting for Mojang to fix it would be better I guess.

That's what we are trying to do, we are trying to do it like we did when we were hybrid 1.7/1.8.

That's the same as having two versions for one server.
Also guys I think you are missing the point of the update, we are not going to full 1.9, so don't worry, the server will just be 1.8/1.9, and have 1.8 features with support for 1.9 in case players do want to use 1.9. (Don't know why they would though.)

Umm, one side will use shield and one side will not
There will be no 1.9 features. It's just the server as it is now, just that you can join with 1.9, which means new players can join since it is the latest version.
1.9 sucks, regardless to the fact that I'm banned thank you for noticing full 1.9 otherwise I would've died on the spot feeling sorry for everyone else!!!!
