Books by Numberz_ March 27, 2016 at 1:03 PM UTC

Hi, I created a topic similar to this a while ago but I can't find it. So I thought I would re make it, sort of like this post on the OCN forums.

Post any books you recently read (or reading right now) and would recommend to others. Don't spoil the ending to the books or I'll kill you like Han Solo.

My list:
Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown
1984 - George Orwell
Art of War - Sun Tzu
Politics - Aristotle
The Prince - Niccolo Machiavelli

I'll add more to this as I remember them. xD

Once I get home I shall write an extensive list of books! :D

Sevoo March 27, 2016 at 2:03 PM UTC

Lol haven't read a book since summer, except for school readings, rip.

The most recent books I read was the Divergent series though, since I do like sci-if.

KadirGarib March 27, 2016 at 2:03 PM UTC

what is this "book" thing you speak of?

Capenage March 27, 2016 at 2:03 PM UTC

I love the Percy Jackson book series! It might be old but it is amazing.

ImRaging March 27, 2016 at 2:03 PM UTC

I read all of the Heroes of Olympus. Decent series.

All but Scorched Earth of the Henderson's Boys series. Really good series.

zero9178 March 27, 2016 at 2:03 PM UTC

Hobbit books by J. R. R. Tolkien
The Discworld series by T. Pratchett (im trying to read it now)

Murphh March 27, 2016 at 3:03 PM UTC

Persepolis-The story of a childhood by Marjane Satrapi    [beautifully done graphic novel]
Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris   [favorite story - go carolina]

I usually start a book then stop around page 20 and move to a different book :/  I got through both of these, so that's saying a lot!!! :)

JDKL March 27, 2016 at 3:03 PM UTC

I read the Heroes of Olympus and the Percy Jackson series.

Newcleus March 27, 2016 at 4:03 PM UTC

Anything by John Grisham, Tom Clancy, or Donald Trump.

One of my favorite books is The Art of War by Sun Tzu.

BoldAndBrash March 27, 2016 at 4:03 PM UTC

Warriors

Myworld6 March 27, 2016 at 4:03 PM UTC

Of Mice and Men - John Steinbeck
The Books of Pellinor series - Allison Croggons.
Zom-B series - Darren Shan.
His Dark Materials trilogy - Philip Pullman (if you're offended by books that contradict Christian, Judaism, Islam, etc. don't read the third book).
Heroes of Olympus series - Rick Riordan.
The Maze Runner trilogy - James Dashner.

Ironically, I have so many books but I've read them all, so I can only remember the names of 6 distinctly. xD

FrozenSolstice March 27, 2016 at 8:03 PM UTC

The Bride Stripped Bare.

Water for Elephants.

With my Body.

To Kill a Mockingbird.

A is for Love.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Dont Judge a Girl by her Cover.

The Human Body.

Girl's Stuff. (That book is literally my Bible.)

The Matched Series. (Pretty bad TBH, but I'll read it if I'm desperate.)

piratewithgun March 27, 2016 at 10:03 PM UTC

Die Verwandling - Franz Kafka

Really interesting book I studied for A Level German

Of Mice and Men is one of the worst books I've ever read... It's a classic but Steinbecks writing style us too out of date.

All A. P. Chekhov's stories
The Captain's Daughter by A. S. Pushkin
Hobbit books by J. R. R. Tolkien
The Discworld series by T. Pratchett (im trying to read it now)
Isn't War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy? Dostoevsky wrote Crime and Punishment from what I know, both very long books. Have them but never read them. xD

__DONNIE__ March 28, 2016 at 2:03 AM UTC

'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' has got to be a great read... although a little challenging for some.

Nebbsy March 28, 2016 at 2:03 AM UTC

The maze runner series (I'm on book 3/4)

Dragon ball/Dragon ball Z

ImNotYourTiger March 28, 2016 at 3:03 AM UTC

The maze runner series was quite nice.

I was also a fan of the Percy Jackson series

Crazy_ March 28, 2016 at 4:03 AM UTC

Hmm, well the series Legend by Marie Lu is really good. So is the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare (including the other spin-off series by her). Rule of Three by Eric Walters is another great series. Actually, most Eric Walters books are pretty good.

Maybe, but I enjoy history so it's essentially a gold mine. Plus, the characters are quite interesting and I enjoy books written in the 30's.

Agree to disagree, I suppose. =)

__Talus__ March 28, 2016 at 10:03 AM UTC

The Game of Thrones books are MY LIFE!!!
They are 10 times better than the TV series and 10 times more interesting.

Not reading anything right now, but I've read

Any mythological related book by Rick Riordan
the Legend trilogy by Marie Lu (Currently waiting to get the last book of The Young Elites)
the Divergent series
Skulduggery Pleasant series (Probably the best set of books I've ever read, I would recommend them to anyone ;P)
