Stop the AMA's by JCoIe March 30, 2016 at 9:03 PM UTC

its annoying to only see AMA's on the forums, lets try and generate different discussions. Why do you feel the necessity to have 3 god damn AMA's?

Myworld6 March 30, 2016 at 9:03 PM UTC

It allows players to get to know each other better.

JCoIe March 30, 2016 at 9:03 PM UTC

that's why there is an "introduce yourself" section

H8ers gonna h8

xD

True. However, that's where the majority of "Ask me anything" threads are posted.

Crimson_Aught March 30, 2016 at 9:03 PM UTC

This situation is only for few last days. For some reason a lot of ppl desided to answer on stranger's questions :/

JCoIe March 30, 2016 at 9:03 PM UTC

True. However, that's where the majority of "Ask me anything" threads are posted.
yes but my main point was that people were posting multiple ama's solely for the purpose of attention, have you not noticed at least 5 AMAs a day? Avicus barely gets 10 people on the forums at time because its boring with all the AMA's

Crimson_Aught March 30, 2016 at 9:03 PM UTC

And this type of thread is more popular than others.
Players are only interested in amas and showing faces :<

GrapeSmoothie March 30, 2016 at 9:03 PM UTC

I miss u debatecards ;-;

DaFrozenBlaze March 30, 2016 at 10:03 PM UTC

I make an AMA because I'm bored, and yes because I need attention. This isn't something you can get rid of. I really see nothing wrong it.

If you don't like them, ignore them. Don't tell others what they should and shouldn't do and how it can be annoying. It allows players to introduce themselves as well as get to know more players and maybe make new friends.

'twas merely a suggestion, my intention of this post was to bring awareness to Avicus that the amount of AMA posts are ridiculous

JDKL March 30, 2016 at 11:03 PM UTC

There isn't really anything wrong with the AMAs. With them, you are able to know people better, get different opinions and ask interesting questions. I think they're more of a good thing than bad thing, however you may disagree and interpret it differently.

True, I mean aren't we all eager to learn about a stranger on a lego game server's forum?

PokerFace March 31, 2016 at 12:03 AM UTC

I'm ok with AMA's as long as the same person doesn't make one like every other month.

NolanDalton March 31, 2016 at 1:03 AM UTC

It's pretty annoying tbh

Fuseh March 31, 2016 at 5:03 AM UTC

well, somehow it is annoying

MLGtino April 1, 2016 at 2:04 AM UTC

AMAs are terrible. Let me just list the reasons real quick.
1) You only need one but people create plenty more on these "special occasions". I mean come on I'm sure not much has changed since the last time you answered the same generic questions asked each time.
2) I don't even have to look at a single AMA topic to tell that people don't even post questions that allow them to "get to know each other better". Like you have to be joking. Asking "Am I sexy" or "what's the circumference of the sun" does not contribute to this whatsoever. I know it's an ask me everything but I just proved the above arguments completely invalid. So live with it.
3) They take up space on the forums that could be used for other things such as helpful suggestions which this server DESPERATELY needs. If I have to open up the website and see some kids fifth AMA which he's making because he got banned from the server and wants as much attention as he could possibly digest at once then what's the point. We outlaw leaving posts for the same reason. So why should we even bother. I know it's for fun. I have more than one brain cell ladies and gentlemen. But just put it somewhere else.

But in reality nobody would bat an eye at this post. Nothing will change. That's just the way it is. These posts are harmless but they're terrible in their own unique way. So for those of you who wish to argue with me, go right ahead. There is practically little to no benefit in AMAs. Keep in mind it's an opinion and I'm simply stating what's on my mind. I have no intent to be salty here, but truthfully I think that AMAs are a disease infesting the forums and have formed this opinion but have been hesitant to share for a while.

Now I can.

Don't even start me on the "opinions on me" thing either. Please for the love of God.

Again, your personal opinion.

Howsie April 1, 2016 at 6:04 AM UTC

Again, your personal opinion.
You are the absolute worst when it comes to criticisms aren't you? Why don't you try arguing an intelligent point instead of saying 'its your opinion' or 'they're doing it for a positive reason and anything that is there for a positive reason cant be criticised'

@Tinoliscous Great points babe. Especially the one about 'opinions on me'. Attention seeking pricks

hey there sistah good roast

Wahiz April 1, 2016 at 10:04 AM UTC

Ama's will not go away. So the point means nothing to people who make ama's and that's a lot of the forum users.

That's your opinion

To be honest, it really is his opinion. Simple as that, with nothing really behind it. Others may agree, while some others disagree

"Attention seeking pricks". Really Howsie, and you don't seek attention every time you start an argument over something pointless? Calm down bud.

Cynthesis April 1, 2016 at 10:04 AM UTC

They were OK when there was maybe 1 at a time on the front page, but Christ, it gets completely stale when there are FOUR FUCKING AMA's on the front page now. And hell, with another being a leaving post, one being an LFT thread, and 2 others being "I need help" ones, it literally makes me not give a flying fuck about what's going on at Avicus due to this infestation (and I know what you're thinking: "But Cynthesis, you made at least 3 in your time here! You're such a hypocrite!" And while I was an "attention-seeking prick" as Howsie described and just a giant fucking idiot in general about a year ago, the last one I made was 3 months ago since it was my birthday, and I'll be waiting for at least another 3 before I make one again.)

However, AMA's aren't inherently bad nor attention-seeking, as everyone seems to think, but we definitely need to decrease the rate at which they're being made before the entire front page is AMA this and AMA that.

Aphelion April 1, 2016 at 10:04 AM UTC

Or ... you can do as shadowolf365 and make 365 amas. Ridiculous. *sigh*

Nothing behind it? Are you not reading the opposing posts on this thread saying the exact same thing I am? Have you not gone and read an AMA just to prove my COMPLETELY VALID points instead of complaining about it being "my opinion". I even said it was mine. You don't have to restate that. It's completely redundant.

Cynthesis April 1, 2016 at 10:04 AM UTC

Tino's right. Learn how to argue before diving headlong into a debate. "That's your opinion" is literally the worst argument anyone can offer, and just because it worked in The Big Lebowski doesn't mean it works here.

ImNotYourTiger April 1, 2016 at 10:04 AM UTC

Yeah I just scimmed it to be honest. Since everyone's arguing with me, I'm gonna go read it and see what I did wrong lol

EDIT: I mean, what you said is true. But, when you say AMA's are completely useless... They have some use

Crimson_Aught April 1, 2016 at 11:04 AM UTC

Some stats: 11 amas were created last week,  when ppl usually create 7-8 amas every week.
Attention-seeking is normal for kids and teens.

lactify April 1, 2016 at 12:04 PM UTC

I ageee, there are lot of AMA, but honestly, they are partly for fun and as people have said: to get to know each other more. But maybe, people should ask proper questions and not any joking questions.

Wahiz April 1, 2016 at 12:04 PM UTC

Wanna fite?

28cheetah April 1, 2016 at 12:04 PM UTC

I disagree AMA's give you the opportunity to learn about other people.

NolanDalton April 1, 2016 at 2:04 PM UTC

AMA's are so fucking annoying literally all the questions are stupid and there isn't any point for them other than attention, when admins or relevant people do them they're interesting but other than that they're just boring and spammy.

Cynthesis April 1, 2016 at 5:04 PM UTC

Wanna fite?
Nah, I'd rather talk it out rationally :P

They're spammy as hell, but that doesn't give anyone the right to let only "relevant people" (and I can't even think of a more general term if I tried) make them.

Right, then I was born in Nigeria.

meh ok

Crimson_Aught May 29, 2016 at 8:05 AM UTC

It is actual again. 10(!) in one day.
Guys, you are mad

Eklip_Z May 29, 2016 at 11:05 AM UTC

Please. They are so annoying.

Sevoo May 29, 2016 at 12:05 PM UTC

You cannot simply

complain about AMAs

BoldAndBrash May 29, 2016 at 12:05 PM UTC

When a person creates one, it starts a chain reaction, and it has been doing that since the beginning of AMA's. ;_;
